You know something funny? Mazda did not make any Front-wheel-drive cars prior to Ford's involvment. Ford told Mazda, the next big this is, FWD, in return for our investment, make some FWD cars.
dude it dont matter if the engine, body, chassis, seats, lights, whatever, the freaking badge says ford, and that's all you need to know, its a piece of garbage. not to mention ford stamped their name on the engine cover, so even the engine sux. fuk a ford. unreliable piece of ****s.

Unreliable? My Focus has been rock solid with just over 36,000 miles on it. The only thing that's broken in the engine bay, was my fault. Ford isn't quite in the performance market as much as Mazda as it pushes most of its money towards it's trucks. I'd like to see a stock Mazda hang with a Mustang SVT though.
Ford over in Europe actually developed the Focus (designed in Germany) and released it a year or two before the Focus hit USA shores. Thus it's sort of an important, but not really. I drive a german designed car manufactured in Mexico. The only american sized sockets I need are for the environmental protection systems. Now that's a pain in the ass.

Lol. Nothing in your engine bay should have broken, even if it was your fault. If ford would live up to its name: "built ford tough", that never would have happened.
It's a pity that the American car companies can't build a FOUR cylinder car to keep up with foreign 4 bangers. I can only name like 3. Eagle talon (isnt that mitsubishi eclipse? *shrug*) neon srt4 and svt focus. The rest of the 4 cylinders can't even come close. A stock Mazda hang with an SVT? According to a report by car and driver, the rx-8 finished a lap with twisties and drags not even HALF a second after the ford cobra svt. You cant really compare apples to oranges.
but put my old vr4 twin turbo to the svt though and see who loses.
