    Innovate MTX-L Install

I still have to wire it in properly.
In looking at some peoples threads I realize that I could use it for the ECU as well which would have negated my need to weld the new bung in. Not a huge deal. I may try it.
I would like this to be an informative and helpful guide to anyone doing this mod so if any information is desired or offered, speak it.

    The Manual

You can see that I used a red wire for the ground. It's obviously the ground so don't be confused. The red wire coming from the fuse box is the one on top. That particular power source is switched so the sensor comes on when I start the car per the directions. I just folded black tape over the yellow and brown wires to isolate them as they'd be the ones to hook up to the ECU.

i wouldn't suggest tying it to the ECU unless its a standalone. if i remember right the ecu isnt' all to fond on it.
ACE, would know more- he has experience there if i remember

Is that just the BPT that doesn't like it?

it works fine with the stock ecu's both the bp26 and bp . you just have to select the right output analog range in the controller software

LOL at the proper use of a Safeway low price sign! That's awesome! I ship all my parts that aren't flat rate in their boxes.

This. Mine went wonky though, I believe when I recalibrated it it reset the output range. If I were to do it again I'd just use a stock sensor in addition to the Innovate sensor.

Iantboyd-I look forward to seeing your worklog. You'll notice I didn't show any part of the welding that went on. lol it's sealed and that's all that matter. If I had it to do over, I would have moved the bung a little farther down the pipe to make re installation easier. Not being able to use a socket is a bit of a pain. Clearance is an issue though.

FE3-323-My OCD says make it work. My lazy ass says this will be just fine.

MazdaNoob-My whole purpose for this mod is to make the car perform better through tuning. If it turns out that I have to use it as the primary sensor, then I'll do that. Figuring out what an analog output range is will probably be first on my todo list.

CODY004WD-These signs are awesome. It's basically two pieces of thin plastic with a foam center. Stronger than cardboard yet very workable. The hole I cut looks like a shaggy mess because I used a dremel. I think a hot knife of some sort would have given far better results, or a very sharp exacto. (I have access to a pile of it actually but timing is everything) I still have lots of the stuff though so may try again. I'd like to make a piece that fits that whole better but------I don't know if I have the patients to do it, and to what end?

MazdaNoob-What oil pan leak(; I'll hit the bolts a bit and see if I can't cinch it up a bit.

                    Ace-Thanks. Helps keep forward momentum.

I think I'm going to pull the boost gauge off my DD and put it right next this gauge. That way I can take a video of both during a hard pull and see what's going.

It's in and wired up. Reading 13.1 at idle.

lol what's with the wiki link? Also 13:1 isn't bad for 460s being untuned. Let us know the outcome tho.

If the O2 sensor is working properly, it should be in closed loop, cycling between slightly rich and slightly lean at idle, normally around 14.7.
If its not the stock fuel setup, it will most likely be rich, but I believe it should still be cycling slightly rich, slightly lean.

Unplugging the O2 sensor completely resulted in my B6t going to about 10.9, then after a few seconds, it seemed to default to about 13.4....

I won't have logworks online until I can source a serial to usb plug that doesn't cost $40 bucks.
It hovers between 14.7 and 15.1 at idle. A second gear pull starting at 3k will drop it down to 10.5, then by 46K RPM's it his 12.5 and takes off, then goes to 22.4 off throttle. Second is much the same only it hit's 46K much sooner.
