i got an auto engine. the oil pan has the sight hole to undo the flex plate bolts to the torque converter. there is lots of oil in the intake manifold so im going to put my old one on.

got the trans and engine separated and removed the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel. my clutch still looks good. a few hot spots on the pressure plate.

got everything hooked up and she fired right up...then set the timing 14 degrees advanced. drove her around. popped the hood and saw i had a coolant leak on the idle thing under the intake manifold

that sucks, was it the heater core hose? or the IAC hose? I always just loop my IAC hoses lol, i figure the throttle body would be cooler if there wasn't any hot coolant flowin' through.

never updated on the leak. it was the hose to the oil cooler. i cut the end off and put a new clamp on and the leak was gone.

over easter i shaved the ford emblem off the hatch and filled in the gap between the reflector and hatch. than painted it black. i have yet to put the spoiler back on.

im debating on making full fiberglass flared fenders or just flared lips. i think the full fenders would work better for the mx3 rear suspension but a lip would also suffice and leave the fenders with a little more strength

geez im slacking. Last things i did to the car were installed OEM WRX horns, im sick of not being heard on the road. i got new tires also but thats nothing special. im saving up to turbo my car before next summer. I have attempted this 3 times but now i have a better job and i will not sell anything i collect to turbo. i do not want to back out of plans for this car.

got the first of many parts to turbo, in the mail yesterday. Bosch bpv from a saab. few more parts to get and then push yunvmyegt to buy his damn holset already and sell me all my old **** plus some lol.

aint me man, i blame my comp insurance, the hartford from ct who have been dicking me around for ever, now today they canceled and reissued my last check that got lost in the mail, and also sent out another 2 weeks worth of pay, ill believe it when i see it, but the stuffs all yours soon as im ready....

Might as well update this.

I haven't done anything with my car since September. I did however scrape into a telephone pole while trying to avoid a pothole, did it so many times and one day i got too close . Now that the weather is getting nice again, I have to pop that dent out and figure out some sort of design to put on the car to cover up the scrapes, not sure i want to pay for factory color touch up paint. the damage is right under the passenger rear window, right behind the door.

I need to fix my drivers side rocker panel, its getting pretty rusty and a large hole. I still plan on doing some sort of rear fender flare or just widen my rear fenders, so that I can fit the wheels I got a couple years ago and the MX3 rear TTL's.

I'm planning for a v6 swap next year or perhaps once I move to California, that is a legal thing I can do for more power and still maintaining SMOG legality.

I'll have Tubular LCA's shortly, once they are produced. I'll be replacing the ball joints when I put the Tubular LCA's on the car. I'll have to get some rod ends and bolts to make endlinks for the front.

hmm lets see i installed the escort LX fluid bottles.

I have a friend with a probe who wants to swap a klze into it, so that is getting me to want to do the same. Luckily i still have a few parts for that...MAF and ECU

going to start sourcing parts to swap it in the fall.

Another update

Got the tubular LCA's from Jim last week.


Ordered some rod ends, bolts and washers to design an endlink.


Got one of the LCA's powdercoated.


Sat i'm going to test fit the LCA's and i have to roll my front fenders. It seems that with MX3 front LCA's and my blown struts, the tires are hitting the fender lip and screwing it up. Might as well roll them so that I can fit wider tires under there. I have some 205's waiting to go on.
