Thats all just mixed coolant and oil. Cylinder #1 always looked good and dry, every time I pulled the plugs. All the others were always wet. I just chalked it off to fuel. well now I deff know its not fuel.. lol
and the bottom end looks good, rings and cylinder walls look great. Im getting the Head rebuilt for $250 with new everything. then I'll basically have a like new BP

Yeah, with the rebuilt head it should be pretty good. I'll probably do some minor porting to the intake and exhaust ports when I get the head back.

nice man! fyi, you'll want to order the oem center gasket for the intake manifold...they're supposed to be a crush gasket and that one is not unfortunately. I couldn't see if any other intake gaskets weren't crush type in the pic.

for the degrees with head bolts you'll need a torque angle meter, which can be purchased on ebay pretty cheap. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Torqu...motiveQ5fTools

it's a 1/2" adapter for a ratchet/breaker bar afaik, they may come 3/8". You just zero out the gauge, make sure the engine is secure and pull the ratchet/breaker bar all the way to the designated degree mark with a nice smooth transition.

You can also do it in stages, which is best for proper torque...so you can do 1/2 incriments twice, 1/3 three times...ect.

can you take a pic of your center intake manifold gaskets? lol, i just realized you purchased your kit off mizumo.

angles arnet hard to figure out, its just a 90, if you happen to go say 92 degrees its not going to kill ya, i just did heads on a malibu at work yesterday, off in an hour and a half, to the machine shop and running before i left work, waiting on a few other parts for it.... but ya that was like 44ft lbs + 90 degrees, figure make it straight out to the right, and then make it point back at ya there isnt much too it.... also somewhere that rents tools might have the angle finder in the package with the tq wrench.... ive yet to have a problem doin it this way... i did a new aveo a few months back, that had like 4 angles to do, i forget the tq, but it was something stupid like the tq+ additional 30+45+45 or soemthing ....lol....be glad its just a 90...lol....
