wow turned out great! a couple of the welds on this pic look kinda deep or there was a gap in the weld els. Other than that, that's quite the piece! I'd be damn proud of that creation!

Exactly there was gap over that side. I had to remove the 2 bends on both no.2-3 cyl to weld the 1-4...when I put back 2-3, the pipes move a little, thats why the weld penetrated that much.

Today, I installed the engine. Just before dropping it, I put the ramhorn and the turbo to see how it clear the transmission's front mount. I took few pics. Not shown on the pictures, but the setup get no interference with the P/S pump. Will make a 4" aluminium air intake with 2X 45 degree. Have to order the parts. I'm also searching for new rad, have to move it forward, using the condenser, a 24" x 16" spot, if someone have a solution, it would be very appreciate...

...I'm considering to put a turbine housing wasgated internal, so I could re-use my stock rad with a pusher fan, also my oil cooler would keep the same spot.

How much room do you need? You could try slotting the radiator brackets to get a little extra room?

What else should I use?? GT3071 has the same size as GT3076R but has smaller internal than vj23. GT3076R was the best choice for me. I've been very close to buy a GT35 because of it's lower cost...same size again.

The main reason that I changed turbo, is to get more hp at a lower range. The VJ23 spool great, but when you tune it under high pressure, his small housing turbine makes the EGT very high. The BP/VJ23 combo reach it's top hp @ 1450F while you can melt a piston @ 1650F. The zone is smaller past 20psi to get a knock with too much timing advance, too low EGT or too hot EGT if you retard timing too much. The small housing of the VJ23 is the cause of that, it hold more heat than an ar .63 or even a .82 from garrett. Also the GR3076R will achieve more ponies at a lower boost as well. It makes the life easier to tune high HP.

I remember when I tuned the first time the VJ23 on stock engine past 23psi I had only 3 degrees of range to play with before I get whether a knock or critical EGT....hope this help.

Lots of progress in this thread, but its a bummer there was no videos of the previous setup regardless if your girlfriend erased them or not.

It seems like a lot of work, but cannot find any good input/feedback on the modifications done.

what angles did you use to cut the merge collector? I am trying to make one and going to practice with pvc pipe.
