Ordered a SS T3 flange. The one on the exhaust manifold doesn't line up at all with the Holset.

Got me some Tial wastegate flanges. Now just waiting on the T3 flange and I'm hacking this manifold!

Up next, any ideas of how to separate the turbo exhaust housing from the bearing carrier? It's like rusted together! I sprayed PB Blaster and I'm going to let it sit overnight.

Thanks to Ryan, the turbo spins freely now. I just sprayed the feed port with carb cleaner as I kept spinning the wheel.

and the latest update if you can guess what I'm going to do:

            more to come tomorrow

How did you weld the wastegate shut. Like with what kind of welder.

              Wire feed flux core.

Right now I'm waiting for tons of parts to arrive in the mail so I can start making the exhaust system and test fitting all the turbo parts!

Just got the T3 flange, the exhaust turbo housing has been dipped in evapo-rust and ceramic coated black. Working on the turbo intake housing now, shaving, polishing, etc... I have to post pics! It looks awesome!

how well is the weld sticking to the cast? I tried to weld something to a cast exhaust mani a while back and it stuck until i hit it with something. It looked welded but wasnt fused together. Don't know but it might have been because i didn't clean the cast before welding it.

Oh it's sticking! I hit it with a screwdriver and a hammer to see if I could chip the welds, but no luck. There are 3 weld runs on that wastegate, plus I prepped it before welding.

How did you prep it?? Cast has to be heated before welding inorder to get any kind of good penatration....

I didn't know heating it was a prep procedure. I did torched the wategate so I could take the flap out. I just took a wire brush to it

Yeah. I think something in the area of 400 degrees of pre heat
