its all about practice and good info, its taken me 4-5 years(3 years professionally, and about 2 more years of actual weld time over the passed 4 years) to make those consistently 80% of the time, and i still hate 2 out of those 3 welds for personal reasons.

Exactly, I did it in high school and I was better than the teacher (I could actually weld aluminum back then) I think I just need more practice to bring my skills back. I like MIG welds better though, a lot cleaner.

I think I did an alright job on the weld for the wastegate. I know it's like a mountain high, but it's solid. Also took the flap out and I'm going to fill the whole shut.

Up next, any ideas of how to separate the turbo exhaust housing from the bearing carrier? It's like rusted together! I sprayed PB Blaster and I'm going to let it sit overnight.

Thanks to Ryan, the turbo spins freely now. I just sprayed the feed port with carb cleaner as I kept spinning the wheel.

and the latest update if you can guess what I'm going to do:

                  more to come tomorrow

Well I fail! The tranny that I picked up is not a E153, so back to the original plan with the G-series lol

Yeah I think I'm going to rebuild it since it has shaft play. I just need to figure out a way to separate the exhaust housing to the bearing carrier, it's like stuck together!
