Ok was making some observations of the milli motor and the mx3 one. On the coolant spout buy the filler cap on the milli motor there's nothing(see pic 1) but on the k8 there's a sensor(see pic 2). What's it for? Will I need to swap over that coolant neck???

Also on the k8 you see a connector by the filler cap with a wire that goes down to the middle of the block. I think its the knock sensor. The milli motor doesn't have the wire or connector bit looks like there's a knock sensor under that the coolant pipe in the middle of the block between the intake ports. Am I going to have to put the k8 1 on the milli motor?

I'm pretty sure the second plug on the coolant neck is a fan relay switch..my kl in the 323 doesn't have that plug but the one in the mx6 does. Let me check my haynes manual.

And that other plug is the knock sensor but I'm unsure as to why one doesn't have the wire.

EDIT: its the fan control sensor plug. Seeing that you will most likely run a hardwired fan to a switch you won't need it.

If that's the fan sensor then what are the other 2 for? Damn new motors and having to learn about them lol

The single spade sensor closest to the firewall is your temp sensor for your gauge inside the car. The one in the middle is the temp sensor for your ECU.

Spank you. Definetly won't need that sensor for the fan with my setup. Still have to pull that tube to replace the f'n knock sensor.

Well the wifey is leaving tomorrow and will be gone till sunday. I'll be grabbing some drinks and working a few hrs on friday and sat. Expect progress pics.

Plans:
Dismount trans from k8
Pull flywheel/clutch
Paint valve covers(this is a thing I need done..just to be a show off of the color )
Swap out knock sensor
Pull any:all external parts from k8(alt,ps pump,ect)

All this,not the valve covers, will be done after 8 at night when my youngest crashes. So I'll work on this for 2 nights for 2-4 hrs a night. Hopefully I can get all I want done

93/94 KL/K8 have 2 coolant temp sensors, so if you're running a later ECU it will only have one...the little ground sensor by there is for your temp gauge too.

Started degreasing the kl. Ran out of degreaser Going to yank parts off the k8 tonight. I'm dreading rust control. Here's some of the crap I'm going to have to deal with

Muahahaha. I'm happy....and drunk. But I did manage to get all this done in about 1 hour,maybe a hour and a half.

Alt,ps off. Trans off. Still need to pull the knock sensor,front timing belt covers(the kl ones were busted),oil pan and clutch assembly/flywheel off

Done for today lol. Tomorrow night I finish pulling parts off the k8. Might not get to the valve covers but at least I got this much done.

Got the itch to do some more work while kids were outside playing. True K8 flywheel and pretty much brand new clutch. I'm going to run this for now. If I do go with some sort of FI I'll replace the disk
