Is your drag strip down hill? LOL.

Compression was even and high......when it went in.

Things that make me go Hmmmmmm:
Wondering if the 2 1/4 exhaust with cat might be a restriction?
I also wonder about a colder, cold air intake as mine is kinda suckin' hot air off the rad.
I wonder if these down hill drag racer KLZE super heros are using the MX-6 transmission?

My friend changed the 3rd gear ratio in his MX-3 and it traps higher MPH then all the other MX-3's on MX-3.com, this makes me wonder if it is all in the gearing.

Nah... i'm certainly not the only one to get those cars in the 14.7 area.

A real cold air intake will definitely help.

I believe the fastest Bolt-ons KL i've seen was in an MX6, so the gearing might have something to do with it for sure. My car is using an MX3 trans, but i'm not sure how relevant that is since i'll be spinning to about... 9500.

I know I have to hit 4th at the 1000' with my mx3 trans. Sure wish 3rd was a tad longer.

Get some fresh air to that KL lol, once they heat soak they make crap for power.

I think the 2 1/4" system may be holding you back though, have you thought of a cut out?

I agree with Concealer, you should be able to break 14s without nitrous!

If the track has a scale yu should weigh the car first and see what you get...

with drag radials I think you should be able to get your 60's down to a 1.9 - 2.0...

I think the mx3 trans is geared to high for the KL's... I don't think it makes good use of its power band... I know out here the KL powered P5 I race against runs protege gearing and final drive (longer 3rd/4th and 4.10's).. also a taller tire then I run... He traps at 91 - 92mph in 3rd gear...

Keep an eye on my thread.. Hopefully in september I'll have the car back together and get a chance to run it at the track again with the new set up... I'll be running a stock KLG4 with for escort gears(3.86 final drive and evenly spread 3rd/4th)...

Thanks for your imput guys. I have been thinking about a pre-cat cut-out with a glasspack for track use. I will have make a true cold air also.

It does, it runs 14.6 N/A. Concealer thinks it should run 14.00 flat without nitrous, I don't think so. He is comparing race cars to my street car. I drive mine to work everyday. To run 14.00 N/A the engine would need to be modified or you would have to loose some serious weight.

Thanks man. Since my car has been built there has been many people that think it should be quicker. I was talking to one of my old car buddies the other day and the should be quicker and Brandon's MX-6 came up. I helped my friend Brandon swap a KLZE into his MX-6 in the early 2000's his car ran 13.6 N/A and 12.7 with nitrous. I ended up talking to him the other day. He was buying Grand National parts from my store LOL. Anyway he said I need slicks. He used to do a 1.7 60'. He said his car was no where near as quick as mine on street tires or drag radials. He used to leave the line at 6000RPM! (I leave at 2000RPM). He also had the car tuned on a Dyno with a S-AFC which made an extra 18HP wheel. He also tuned the nitrous (direct port) on the dyno, and created his own jetting based on th A/F ratios. I have another theory too, the Mx-3, MX-6 and Probe GT are all very aerodynamic, the 323 not so much lol.

                              Road raced it Saturday ;-)

I ripped the front exhaust hanger right out of the floor on a candy cane. Never had trouble with the exhaust on the street/strip, the 323 wants to be a race car, it keeps trying to loose it's exhaust on the road course LOL (Last time Road racing the EGR plug in the header fell out)
