I am now thinking that my problem is NOT detonation or pre-ignition because both are almost always undetecable. I think what I am experiencing is fuel cut. as far as boost cut goes I believe it's essentially the same thing isn't it? Boost cut is just a calculation between the vaf and the ecu and results the same way fuel cut does doesn't it?

I had that same identical problem as everyone else. In 3rd 4th and 5th if I went from say 1500-2000rpm and went wot it would lean out and pop in the 3000-5000rpm range. IIRC the gtx and gtr were designed to be rally cars so their fuel maps are ment to be right in the higher rpm range. So if you kept it in the upper rpm range it won't detonate. A safc with minor adjustment in the 3000-5000rpm would be ideal. Even if you added bigger injectors and tightened the vaf that won't stop that fiel curve because you're still running the same map. You may add a little more protection but its just a band aid fix imo. Its the ecu. Swap out to a n/a ecu and adjust the timing so you don't run to advanced and try to deto it. I'd put 5 down that says you don't just because the fuel map is altered and is for a daily driven car that doesn't run in high rpms all the time

you guys can do the nz fix...lol..... drill an 1/8" hole and run a bolt into the afm towards the flapper and make a stop, but dont let your self run out of fuel if you max it... basically you find the point that the afm hits the voltage that sets boost cut in the ecu, and stop it right before that, but its just a bandaid.....i wouldnt recommend something like that, id probably just tighten the hell out of it and add bigger injectors....

I'll let you guys know how it does when i get it hooked up. Mine really isn't that bad right now as it is but i'll let you guys know. My ebc came in the mail today but i missed it. Gonna pick it up tomorrow. I need to either change out my passenger side axle or half shaft. One of the two is making this loud noise and making this horrible wobble or buckling.
