I know this will probably make everyone cringe but here are progress pics of the car. I replaced all the doors and the driver side fender with dentless versions, added mudflaps to the front fenders (need one more mudflap for the rear fenders), and front door moldings. I also replaced the stock grill with the infini grill just for kicks. I know it looks terrible, the car is a 4 color frankenstein's monster....Hopefully it's just a phase. I'm planning on doing the $100 interlux brightside roller job mid march.

Previous upgrades I made was a full interior swap (door cards, front and rear seats), glass sunroof, MX-3 center console (needs adjustment, causes e-brake light to stay on), cabin light.

4 color car on the road is much better than 1 color on the parking! Glad to see positive steps in right direction, man!

Some test fitting pictures of the GTX bumper and mock up of the Tracer LTS duckbill spoiler....still deciding if I want to use it or wait for a 90-91 style GT bumper. Will be installing the MX-6 front lip and grills this weekend.

If any of you guys have Electronic leveling EDMs, Canadian 90-91 GT wing, or infini corners hook me up!

I'm still not sure if I want to use it. I sorta want to hold out for a GT spoiler to keep in line with true Infini trim pieces. If I do decide to use the Tracer bill, I'll paint it black before install.

I still say go with the LTS 3 piece, lol. Will look way more sexy after it's modified to fit right. But I can see why you want to get the gt spoiler.

Oh, and you never got back to me about what day you're available to work on it this weekend.

I agree the bill style spoiler looks sexy if properly moulded and fitted

Haha, ya, Kaleo has helped me a ton with this project. Hopefully we'll get the tranny done before March ends.

Another update with a huge helping of photo dump.

My poorly organized tools/parts pile in the garage

                      My ugly ducklings:

                      Dropped auto trans:

Torque converter removal (done the hard way apparently):

Interior hell. Apparently the previous owner (which one I don't know), hooked up the jankiest alarm system I've ever seen. The set up never worked when I owned it, and it just looks really.....unhelpful with anti-theft.

In case you didn't notice, the disarm/arm switch is in plain view, just below the mirror adjustment switch.

My new polyurethane engine mount set from ZXTuner. Pizza, cherry 7Up, and bacon not included:

Also, apparently there is a difference between the 92 and 94 AC harnesses. The 92 version has the AC switch pigtails going to the harness. The 94 version has the switch pigtails going directly to the ac condenser.

Also the there is a plastic cover on the auto trans that can be removed to easily get access to the torque converter bolts. Me and Kaleo didn't find the damned thing until after we removed the converter. Oh well, lol.

The Auto ECU only has 3 mounting points, the Manual has 4.

The Auto radiator cools the trans and has a separate partition for cooling trans fluid, so those had to plugged up with JB weld since they won't be needed on the manual.

There is a cable that connects the auto shifter to the ignition switch that prevents the car from starting unless it's in park or neutral. 3 small screws remove the plate that holds it in, and swapping the rubber stopper from the manual ignition to where the plate was covering the auto ignition hopefully alleviates this.

Of course probably common knowledge by now, the throttle body from the auto doesn't fit the 3 wire tps from the manual. Swapping throttle bodies is necessary.

I'll list more differences as I remember more.

Some of my ninja stash. Apparently Kaleo no like Guinness, so I drink it all myself. Infini horn button will have to wait a while until I get a Monte Carlo Momo wheel, adapter, and 1 inch spacer.

The Mazdaspeed shift knob hopefully should be going in tomorrow! Had a custom vinyl made at work for the gear numbering. It was originally an ugly off centered yellow, with no background.

Oh, I was able to free up tomorrow all day so we're good to go.

Hey hey now, the groceries didn't come in till after we were all done and cleaned up, but if you'd like to have a heart attack like me then I'll give some to you tomorrow haha.

Now that I'm drinking guinness and thinking about it, it sorta does taste like muddy water, only slightly better.

would you mind taking pictures of this? I don't have a manual ignition handy, and I've been trying to figure out exactly what to do with this part of the swap...
