made a little progress today got axles out of the car. BFH and the right pry bar got the drivers side axle out. gtx motor is coming out to get forged rods and a new head gasket with arp head studs. stock bp-05 is going in with the holset. Hopefully this motor will take 14lbs with gtr ecu while i get the gtx motor built. The previous owner put in forged pistons with stock rods so that is why the pistons aren't getting replaced. This is my first time pulling a motor so i am going to take my time and mark wires and hoses so they get put back in the right place.Last edited by Boosted Escort; 12-12-2011, 11:46 PM.

why did you think it was a bright idea to put the EWG pointing forwards??? you have heaps of room from under the runners to push it off to the exhaust. & still keep a real radiator.

I am probably going change the placement of the wastegate. That should be easy to get changed. On the previous setup i had the turbo facing the same way and if i flip the turbo the other way the compressor housing goes right up next to the radiator. It physically fits but i wont have any way to hook up the vaf. I think I will leave it the way it is and modify the coolant outlet to allow the radiator hose to go under it. what is the coolant outlet made out of aluminum?

yes sir!!! good ole unboltable aluminum goodness!! just make sure you clean the **** out of it before you try & have it welded.

Sounds like a beast! I can't wait to get my car running...I just want to hear the motor run..its my first swap too, and I'm jumping into a steep learning curve with all the stuff I have for it.
