+1 for the ES rack bushings, I placed my worn out oil soaked rubber ones a few years ago and it made the steering feel a lot better.

Sweet where do i find these? i checked rockauto dident see any bushings for an ES. wrong year maybe?

so i got down to going over the escort really good and removed a few things. Took the steering wheel and multi function switch off the column. going to grab anthor from the junkyard and see if that fixes the issue. I was looking in the engine bay and was checking the belts due to a squeeling belt. and this is what i see any clues?



Havent ripped it apart yet so any advice would be great anyways i put her on jackstands also and slide under there and wow guys right on about the pinion bushings you can see where the rack has been moving excessively. Going to order those soon i hope.

Lower bolt on alternator wasnt tightened and ovaled the mounting hole out. Happened to all of my motors.

Is this mounting holes on the alternator or bracket? im doing a junkyard run tomarrow. I also ordered the rack bushings today

There is no bracket. The mounting hole is part of the block and oil pump.

ok ive been trying to repair the end clips for the rear spoiler (both sides ) i went the junkyard and found someone thought it would be fun to rip the spoiler off (destroying the pieces i need) and snap the spoiler in half......and they did this to all the escort gts in the yard except one that looks like someone got off clean

can you re-drill the hole and tap the threads again for a larger size bolt?

Could try to order some clips from the dealer, those might not be obsolete yet. I wish you luck. Worse come to worse you could use some 3m tape and adhesion promoter to mount them.

man i hope not lol and hope its cheap at the dealer. im going to check the other junkyards but last time there where no egts. if all else i might just have to fab some mounts myself and bolt them on. with some tactical use of washers i could prolly make it work
