Well... i don't really need the belts...

But if they just bolt in, would i already have the bolt holes behind my trim, for me to make a custom plate for the bar ends?

There's actually 2 holes to choose from on the B pillar, since Mazda decided to make it "adjustable height" which involves physically unbolting it and moving it to the next hole lol.

Should be man, you can probably bolt the "mounting plate" to both belt holes on the b pillar then run your bar off that.

I would go with one of these before the other one. I have one in my Miata and absolutely love it! Good to hear there is progress!

I'm confused again.... been talking with Jim, re-thinking my idea of using the Escort width stuff.

If i use MX3 arms... that would eliminate the need for the 3rd gen Escort hubs and RX7 balljoints? I'd just use the MX3 arms, MX3 inner axles, Escort outers, and my 2nd gen hubs?

What causes the cv joint bind on these swaps again?

                    Starting to confuse myself again...

IIRC the 3rd gen knuckles with RX7 balljoints provide the same track increase as the MX3 LCAs, I'd imagine the cv joint problems come from trying to use all 2g Escort stuff...

Ah, so using MX3 arms lets me keep my EGT hubs and balljoints.

Do my axle options change at that point? What axles am i needing for this setup?

(Sorry for the dumb questions... i had it in my head this entire time that i was going to use my EGT arms, and that just changed for a couple reasons)

If you use the mx-3 arms, you shouldn't have to change the spindles or balljoints, just have to run the mx-3 axles.

If you go with escort arms, and swap the spindles and balljoints, you still need the mx-3 axles, since they're longer than BP axles.

If you're some how able to use BP axles with mx3 inners then you might not have to change anything...not sure if they're compatible or not tho

Ah ok, so axle choices don't change.

I need MX3 axles from trans all the way to hubs? Thought the spline count was different at the hub end.

nope, Mazda/Ford BG outer spline count is the same

inner is the difference, the mx-3 shares the same inner spline count as the Kia Sephia as well, but idk how they would fit with your escort arms.

Think i'm using MX3-length "stuff" now, which is why i'm asking the same questions again.

So... if i'm using MX3 "stuff," the MX3 axles in their entirety should work since they'll fit in the trans, and the outer spine is the same as my EGT hubs. Righto?

Oh yeah... Strut bars that fit a Familia GTR will fit my car, right? (Found a source for Cusco strut bars.) Will a front strut bar for a Lantis fit BG cars?
