    How about work meisters?

      Regas = awesometown

and word on not spending money on something you're just gonna blow up, just figured I'd suggest it since it would make the turbo setup a bit easier... that manifold/turbo + SPI head/injectors seems to be the easy button for a semi-reliable boat anchor turbo setup

Well, today was a semi productive day... Started with the Hatch having a dead battery that wouldn't take a charge... So, I pushed it out of the way, and took the wagon to go pick up a torque converter that my dad had built for my Mom's 1964 Galaxie XL500. I talked the guy at the shop down by $25, and split the difference with my Dad (for gas costs and the fact that they live 12 miles away ) Then I came home, got the probe open since I had locked it's key in there when I stole the CD player from it :/. Then I stole it's battery for the Hatch. (will add to previously owned parts log on first page, after I post this) Then I loaded the back of the hatch with some scrap metal... I was hoping for $50, ended up getting $95. (the rear pre-cat/exhaust manifold from my '02 Millenia motor, that the junkyard had been too lazy to pull, was worth $45 alone! That makes that engine only $100 now!)

So I had made $107.50 by Noon, on my day off work! Which meant I had some cash to tackle some of the projects I wanted to take care of on the hatch. I spaced the brake pads while I was at the parts store, so those will be coming this weekend... But I did get touch-up paint. Duplicolor FORD Oxford White, in both a rollerball/brush, and a rattle can. I also grabbed some Duplicolor Truck Bed Armor, and a big bottle of Tar and Wax Remover. Total- $37.74 (will add to cost list after I post this.)

Came home, Masked off the doors (and everything within 5' of them) so I could use the bed liner to coat the window trim. After a scotch brite pad, and an application of Tar and Wax Remover, I Coated the drivers side, but then it rained before I could get the pass side done. Drivers side came out great, so I cannot wait to do the pass side. I also whipped out the White Rollerball/brush, and touched up every chip/scratch I could find. I cant wait to compound and clay the **** out of this car. The paint is actually in great shape, and once I buff it, you'll never even know there has been tiny touch-ups all over.

Next I cleaned the garage. While doing so, I found the black pass side dash vent that was in the Tracer dash I recently removed and replaced with an MX3 one (wagon) And it reminded me that this vent, in the Hatch, was broken. So I took the black vent out to the hatch, and verified that it will work to replace the broken grey one. It does. Then while investigating the broken one, to figure out what exactly had broken, I realized I could hybrid the two of them together, and make something with a different look. I used the Second slat and the inner portion of the grey vent, along with the 1st, 3rd and 4th slat and the bezel from the black one, to make a hybrid vent. It's something different, and I like it. It works since I will be keeping some grey in this interior (unlike the wagon, which will be 100% black.) Then I moved the Miata to the opposite side of the garage so my girlfriend can have a spot for when the snow starts flying. Next I came inside, to find that this afternoon, before she left town for work, she left me $60 cash, since she had not gotten any groceries before leaving! I made 167.50 today, which sadly is about all I make on the days when I am at work...

Went back outside, and pulled the hatch into the garage so I could put it in the air, crawl underneath and hack the friggen metal ring, that had vibrated away from it's home, (covering the end of the flex pipe) off of the exhaust. (sounds like a retarded high pitched cowbell while the engine is idling. It's happened on almost every SEFI escort I've ever owned) Only to find out that this one had two of them... the front AND rear rings around the flexpipe had come loose. Twice the work, but at least I know it can't happen again!

Then I decided to check out what was occasionally squealing on the pass side front wheel... Brake pad wear indicator, as I had anticipated, and that's when I realized I had forgotten the pads when I was at the parts store (DOH) I bent it so it would stop squealing, and went to go grab some dinner.

While I was out I snapped a few photo's to show the results of the paint work, and my hybrid vent. I also filled the gas tank (will start Mileage Log after I post this) Nice not having to put premium in the tank of this one... for now. 30cents a gallon is a nice discount! If the previous owner reset the trip odometer on the last fill-up, as I suspect he did, I got 26.9946 MPG on the first tank of gas, and at 204 miles I had consumed 3/4 tank since it took only 7.520 gallons to fill it up... (10 gallon tank) About identical to the most recent fill-up in the wagon, but $2.25 less expensive since I can use low-grade!

                Enough talk... PictARs!

I need a DSLR Camera in a bad way... And I need to clean that vent I guess. Probably should have thought of that while I had it apart.

                        Little update:

The ****tiest GT bumper I've owned to date... I think this would be number 5. Found it at the JY last week, cracked, faded, smashed and swiped, but intact... A lot of plastic welding, a **** ton of sanding, some cursing and a few coats of paint... Not quite as good as new, but at least it's not blue... anymore. Still need to wetsand, cut and polish, and secure the drivers side, but I like it already.

For Reference regarding the rear reflector situation.

91-92 GT - old style lights and full reflectors
93-96 GT - new style lights and full reflectors
91-92 Pony/Base/LX Coupe and 5-door - Old style lights no reflectors
93-96 Base Coupe - new style lights no reflectors
93-96 LX Coupe - new style lights and full reflectors
93-94 5-door - new style lights and orange reflector only with badges in the rear panel <----(badges below reflector, on body)
95-96 5-door - new style lights and orange reflector only with badges on hatch.

It appears that I want to find a clean white 93-94 5-door hatch/decklid to swap onto my 95, to go badge-less without any body/paint work. (same hatch that I put on both my green EGT's too. 5-door/3-door hatches interchange)
