    The new (old) DD

Hey guys. Starting on my recently acquired BG Protege. It is a 1990 with 150k miles. Bought it for $250 in North Carolina and I am dragging it back to my shop in South Carolina. It currently runs and drives but not for long... previous owner says when driving it dies after about 10 mins. I am thinking fuel pump based on previous experience but not 100% sure yet. Will know more when I get it to the shop and dig in. Plans for this car are to fix it up, clean it up, and make it into a strong and fun DD. I currently drive a 2011 Mazda2 that will be sold once the Protege is ready. Thanks for any helpful tips and tricks you may have. Learning a lot already just looking around on here. Love for the DX. I've never noticed anyone actually powdercoat the sohc VC. however it looks good.

Reason for parting ways with the '2'? They've peeked my interest as a fun daily.. Not enough to get into trouble though

"There's a hierarchy of insanity in motor sports. Normal people think all racers are crazy. Folks who race sedans think people in open-wheel cars are nuts. People who race cars of any kind think motorcycle racers are absolutely off theirs meds. But there's one group that everyone agrees is made up of the most extreme, the most daring, and absolutely craziest people in racing - rally racers."

I love the 2, my girlfriend actually has one as well. I am just looking to sell it so I can get away from the car payment and save some money.

Extended it about 10mm to get the short throw. I did not change height.
