gtx wiring !? !?!?!

Damn man, this is so confusing, why did they have to switch the wires to different plugs???? And it's dumb stuff like A/C switch.

Well, at least I got the harness extended. Now if I was smarter, I could read these diagrams better.

Argh, anybody know which wire makes the fuel pump work??? I ended up with two wires that don't match: #1, the CEL, which I don't think exists on the GTX harnerss. #2, something that seems to go to the fuel pump, I dunno how to make it work. My low fuel light is on though, lol. My colors or harnesses don't seem to match any of the diagrams that are on the web!!!!

This was what I used for the GTX to Escort GT for the fuel pump.
GTX------------------------------------>GT
Green/Red --------------------------->Black/Pink

Dang, that's what I did too... why isn't it working?

Edit: P.S., I just kinda guessed by the fact that both were 18 gauge... hehe. But looking at the diagrams online I never saw a G/R wire in them

Well your Black/Pink should be coming from your fuel pump so I would try to get a multimeter to test for continuity, possibly power back to the pump or power coming from your Red/Green...

Thanks, I found a disconnected ground that was causing the turn signals to keep going even after I took the key out, and other weird stuff like that, so I just figure something is disconnected that needs to be connected.

Could someone PLEASE post a how-to on how to wire the GTX engine with the GTX harness?

It seems that 20-30 people have completed this swap, while either 1: not sharing any info about how to wire it, or 2: giving extremely vauge info about how to do it, that often conflict with what others say.


Can anyone PLEASE MAKE A HOW-TO FOR THE WIRING OF THE GTX MOTOR??? Would really help a lot of ppl I know who are trying to install their motors.

My harness came with the stock knock sensor controler so maybe with the part number you could go to the dealer and try to source another one? i don't have the # on the top of my head.
