i recommend an acid dip. a shop here does an entire head work (take it apart, clean everything, do a valve job, put everything back together) for about $200, maybe something worth looking into while everything is out and about and those studs look sexy, can't wait to get me some!

yea i agree with ryan, clean that some more, all that old gasket needs to go.... buy some green and yellow rubber fingered rolac pads, they work great.... greens aluminum and yellow is for steel, they have a white thats even finer/softer too..... most jobs at work ive had to redo of customers, are from them not prepping the surface ..... a pile of razor blades , some gasket remover spray, and them rolac disks are your friend.......92 protege lx-

I didn't have any time to do any of the things I wanted to do with the head/block. I was on borrowed time at work...so I had to do it as fast as I could.
The head spec'd out under the max distortion. So did the block.
I just needed my car running sooner than I planned this season. So time for a rush job.Drew

Rear bumper still ****ed... decided to do a quickie fix by using some of the fiberglass and resin I have been using for my interior.
Just got back from my old auto body class (alumni gets hookups from teachers).
Worked on the rear a bit, took a break and had two guinesses. cops rolled in as i tossed the 2nd bottle. they asked me why it smelled so strange here. I pointed to the fiberglass that was drying.
he sniffed it... he started tearing up and said "alright keep up the good work" and drove away.
frickin' car still reeks tho.

I pushed it into my buddy's garage with the truck. Of course it had to snow just before I was ready. Sarge and I have our work cut out for us to get it running. Should be fun!No car! I soldz it. Now I have a truck. I like it, but apparently it has a hard time keeping up with a slightly modified 4WD protege with half the hp. Neat.

Put my MR2 wheels on the 323 until new rubber shows up. They look funny as all ****.
I peered out from the castle window and looked over the splendor of ROTM county. Yes, twas' a much simpler time back then. Peasants would go about their postings, and I, the mod, would rule over them with an iron fist.

@jturbo: yup! Had my first guinness draught on my 21st b-day. been hooked ever since.
@1992tracer: lol i'm quite the opposite. light beers taste like watered-down piss to me.
-edit- matted up and made the mould for the pods and false floor panels. Also patchin' up the rear bumper from the hit 'til i can afford the gtr kit. BPT first, kit after.Last edited by Hybrid Liger; 03-18-2009, 09:48 AM.

I've put ~350 miles on the BG since getting it running. 150 miles til I'm done with break-in. Bought Silverstars last night for it, done other misc odds an ends. I'm loving my BG!
Meanwhile, NA and BF sit on the street mad at me. LOL

Got pulled over today for modified exhaust and modified intake. *sigh*
bike cop pulled me over saying i need a CARB sticker for an exhaust. pfft.
If i remember correctly, you CANT get a carb sticker on an exhaust because it doesn't affect actual emissions. Now, My CAT has a carb sticker, but obviously not the exhaust. ...maybe i should weld a laser-etched plate onto my exhaust with the matching numbers, lol.
what i did to the BG: reinforced the fiberglass and fabric for the pods, and did a ****ty one-time job at trying to repair the rear bumper (don't care too much for it).
