i dont think sueing is a good idea. get the proper claim, and move on. unless you are actually injured then sue.

I don't know what I would do if that happenned to me. I'd cry for a few days, then, I might be able to drink something, then after about a month, I might be able to get back to some solid food.....

Well if someone runs a redlight they deserve to get sued, Screw the im nice canadian way and give me 10 grand. I didnt feel too bad after my accident but after a month my back hurt and hasnt stopped since. They should learn how to drive.

i dunno, i mean i like my car alot but if it got wrecked, the only thing that would stop me from selling off parts would be my laziness. That may be of course because this is my 3rd car in 5 years, so sentmental value is depreciated somewhat.

WELL, first of all, thanks to everyone for their concerns.

ne3ek, I got another 1st gen just cuz it's what I know and I have tons of resources at my disposal. Going to another brand/model would be starting from the ground up...and the last think I need to be worrying about is my car right now.

bizob, thanks man...I think I have a wierd relationship w/my car. Most people expect me to be worried about all the money I invested in it meanwhile the only thing I am sad about is not being able to drive a car I was on the verge of perfecting (handling wise - well, in my opinion).

Wil, thanks man, but really...it's fine...the car's in my garage now. (Couldn't sleep w/it sitting all alone and unprotected at A-Spec)

Semtex, right now, I just want a Protege to drive around...need to save $$$.

I got a car to tide me over. It was my bro's and he was looking to get rid of it anyway. I'm still looking for something else, but in the meantime I'm going to do some minor things here and there.

I was in a similar situation bro. My car was totalled (my 1st 91 escort GT) during ownership of that car I had purchased a 91 EGT parts car, collected SEVERAL parts from the JY and owned a 323 parts car.

The car was totalled and I was left with hordes of parts so i had no choice but to get another GT and thats what I did, I got my 93 EGT and I couldn't be happier

I'm sure your next protege (after the temp one you own now) will be excellent man. I wish you luck man, glad you didn't go a different route, it's great know enough about you car to not even flinch when something goes wrong, I pretty much know all the bad crap that happens to these cars (i went through a lot of problems with my old 91)
