Found a fast-leaking puncture in my right rear tyre about an hour ago that wasn't there earlier. Must have just gotten it. :/

yo any of you Escort nerds get one of those aluminum eBay radiators? or were those 323/Pro only?

ZX2 has the obligatory mystery coolant leak from the stupid plastic end tanks.

Yeah a lot do that, check the thermostat housing isn't causing your leak. You might want to "upgrade" to one from a '98. As for the rad, the zx2 rad is proprietary to the zx2, because unlike other escorts it has a third fitting on it. I suppose you could redneck a T in the line somewhere and use a rad with only two fittings, but I wouldn't suggest it.

thermostat housing has no apparent leaks- that's the first thing I checked.

do they make the ZX2-specific radiators with metal end tanks of some sort?

I haven't seen any. Could always have another bung welded on.

Good point, if you know someone that can do good aluminum welding it wouldn't take much to punch a hole in the end take and weld in a fitting.

1055 would be base model territory, but we have sunroofs and power options, so 1130kg sounds about right.

I can take it off with everything in place. Had to take it off to get the oil pan to come straight down.

But bought the rebuild kit for $6 shipped, so I'll give this a try. If it doesn't work, I'll just go to autozone an buy one.

pulled the front bumper and installed the new black housing headlamps and HIDs. wired them up temporarily to make sure they worked as advertised and then decided I would rather drink adult beverages. gotta replace the turn signal bulbs (new lights didn't come with any and the clear 194s aren't gonna fly) and then figure out how to aim the stupid things a little better.

I know I'm a week late to this post, but don't get one of these. They are cheap ass radiators. Some work perfectly well, some work for a short amount of time and then fail, and some are bad when you get them. And most of them leak. I've bought a few of them for my race cars so that I don't have to worry about plastic tanks, but they've all failed for no reason other than poor quality. And the sellers are a PITA when it comes to returns & refunds.... I am now back to running a stock radiator until I have enough money to get a custom one made....
