you mean the hangers? are they close enough that they'd fit with some persuasion?

What did I do today? I rebuilt the entire suspension. Then put Rustang wheels on it.

Yeah hangers, couldn't think of the word. It was a while ago I was looking but I think I figured I could make it work at the time. Like one was totally different and the other two were about the same or something like that. I'll try and take a look again when I'm at my parents, I think both the mufflers are still there.

Used my navy knowledge to chip rust from Canadian spoiler. Also grommet-ed the over sized trunk lid hole so less water access the trunk with the trunk installed.

I was looking at the Racing Beat muffler from the MP3 and it looks like it only has one hanger at the back and should totally fit... I just can't remember if the ZX2 uses a two-bolt or slip-on muffler.

Thinking about running a V6 MX3 catback with one of the RB mufflers for something relatively inexpensive that sounds and flows better.

It comes close. The p5 had a crappy ractive fart cannon and the mounting was a bit different than my bg setup. I had to modify it to make it work. May not be the case with others though..

The racing beat mufflers have 2 hangers. I was just under my brothers msp last week.

the one I saw on Craigslist looked like it only had one... could you modify it with a BFH or does it need a cut/re-weld?

The racing beat mufflers and whole cat back is amazing, all straight while remaining decently quite and had a very nice sound on my old BJ. IO didnt get a chance to look again but I'll let you know if i do.

I'm tempted to take a road trip to Jersey to snag that one I found after I fix my manifold leak, because hey, $100...

Drove 5 miles for each lug nut on my White Escort. That's right, I put it through a 100 mile test. After I bedded in the brand new brakes, I couldn't stop driving it. 1st gen probe GT Brakes on all 4 corners is a badass setup in the BG. It's insane how good they are. The pedal feels just right, and there is plenty of grab to lock em up when you want to. I nailed the alignment too, every straight, I tested how long it would go straight. I even brought it from 60 to 0 without my hands on the wheel, pulled dead straight. Success.

I experienced absolutely no bump-steer, and that's with the tie rods on top, not flipped. I dunno, Feels perfect.

Cant wait for my dropliks so I can put a rear swaybar back on, and to fab the new front strut tower bar.

Tomorrow starts the KL swap. Pulled everything out tonight and lined up all the parts, everything appears to be present and in order. Kinda sucks I have to swap the chassis harness, pedalbox, clutch hydraulics and everything else associated with the 5speed swap, but meh, it'll be cake since I have everything ready.

Deadline for running/driving KL is 9/21 at noon. I have to drive like 60 miles to my Dad's school for his annual carshow for the Auto-Tech program.

Then I have one week until the grand opening of the new shop which will be another big show. More work will happen before that show.

These wheels are temporary. I'll be selling them this week, and grabbing some star specs for my 96 Cobra wheels.

congrats on the drive time...... what speed did you have the car up to during your tests? I noticed my issues. mainly only above 70 mph.
do you have sphericals in right now? what front swaybar?

Only got up to 65, so hmm. I'll find out tomorrow, before I tear out the 1.9, if it goes that fast, LOL. Pretty gutless. (I kid, it'll go 120 no problem)

No sphericals currently. I'll put them in during the KL swap, since the axles are longer.

Right now, just an Escort LX front swaybar, I'm unsure if I will upgrade that. The balance is pretty perfect with the ELX front and the MX3 GS rear. My Ksports are the Road Racing spec ones that Jim helped R&D, and are quite a bit stiffer than the off the shelf KontrolPro coilovers, so I don't think I need much more swaybar.

Changed my oil yesterday to Joe Gibbs 10w30, as it has the additive the current SAE oils are lacking (zinc, and phosphorus) and installed a KL K&N oil filter. Could smell the difference in the oil right away, and oil pressure seems to be strong, although I have yet to hit traffic aka lots of idle time to see if idle pressure tappers off like it has with other oils. (Normally 20psi idle, on HOT HOT days it'll drop to 15-16 at idle).

Also non-related BG news...the GD 626 has passed inspection/safety! So now it's time for insurance and license plates!
