I think I got trolled by some local car guys. I was highly recommended a specific brand of polyurethane for filling mounts and a:it's not black b:it's more malleable that window weld is in semi-liquid form.

The biggest reason I think it was a troll as it's off white so I now have a haole engine mount.

Forgot how brilliant the KL/BG combination was! I put 25 or so miles on the hatch tonight, after I finally figured out why I had no spark...

      Sucker moves out!

The combination of the probe brakes, good suspension setup, and KL power is brilliant! I love it! Need to button up some odds and ends, and get an alignment, but I will be making it to the show on Saturday! And in style!

Turns out I melted 5 wires together on the rear header the night I let it run. ****ing dumb... repaired that melted mess and it fired right up. Which is good since I spent all morning doing the HEI and external coil setup. Guess I wired that correctly! Oh well, now I don't have to worry as much about disty failure in the future!

Got the modified E36's and Bugeye grille mounted too, it turned out nice. Tomorrow I need to install the yellow fogs permanently. The only piece I am still waiting to show up is my 4" long angled shift extension. I hate the Corksport shifter now that I've been driving a stock Escort with a 2" extension, hoping the 4" extension perfects the feel!

After sitting in stop and go traffic for 2 hours yesterday car is acting super wonky.

Sub 3k rpms it sounds like a boxster and has horrid acceleration. After than it pulls like normal.

I was thinking I might of shat up the O2 sensor as it's rather old and the car runs a bit rich at idle.
But it's also stalling about every other stop light now.

        No stored diagnosis codes unfortunately.

I have a full tune up parts kit including a new ignition coil, wire, fuel filter, cap, rotor that'll go on this weekend, so much for happy fun snorkel time. I have a 4 wire O2 but will probably just throw a one wire on it to see if it helps if the former doesn't.

Also looking forward to installing rear mount as it solidified up nicely and no longer has any give by hand. But putting a screw driver in it can get some movement which means it'll reduce engine vibrations more than a more solid mount. Something that is important for the quality of roads here.

        Same day edit

Replaced everything except the rotor as the new one was incorrect. Took a wire brush to the old one and it's looking much better. I'm not excited by the design of the replacement disty cap as the ignition source on it has much less metal than the Mitsubishi model it's replacing. Also brushed the grounding points on the driver side of the engine bay while I was removing everything. Response it back to normal and with the exception of clutch depressed(this is a trans issue), idle has improved greatly.

Also my old fuel filter was on backwards although it didn't have the usual black death come out of it.. I understand why someone would install it that way though as it was harder doing it the proper way. Still thinking on replacing the O2 sensor due to unknown age, and considering the fact if I do all the replacement parts besides seals and axles should be good until I'm out of the Navy.

Looking forward to the MPG figure this tank.

I helped my grandpa finish getting his race car ready for tomorrow's race....

mounted tires on wheels, set the toe settings for a 1/4 mile low banking track, and tried to straighten his bent right front suspension (Last race he got spun sideways at full speed, and while he was sliding, he hit a parked car with the right side of his car, and completely messed up his car. Had over 2" of camber, and the whole side of the car is caved in big time....)

Put another 50 miles on the swap today. I think the upper spindle/strut bolt loosened on the drivers front wheel. I have a bunch of negative camber all of a sudden, the alignment went wack (negative camber causes toe-in on these cars if the tie-rod isn't adjusted accordingly) And I have axle binding on right hand turns.

First thing tomorrow I'll pull the front wheels off, yet again, and reset the alignment. I think I'll put some blue threadlock on the upper strut to spindle bolts.

If it has quit raining at that point, I'll give it a quick wash before the bosses' carshow, If not I'll roll in dirty... It's white, and looks clean either way.

Thanks Matt, I'm feeling the SN95's after all. They work nicely.

Bo, Send me some pictures, I have some experience fixing busted bugeyes now. This grille is the one that got all smashed up on James' Escort.

Replaced the rear mount today. Old was one not as jacked up as I was expecting. It was only separated on one side. Car idles the same and I can probably bump it down lower than the 850ish rpms it's at right now. Still pops out of 4th unfortunately, but i figured there was actual trans damage at this point due to my own neglect.

Trans is leaking pretty bad from the drivers side axle seal as well. And both cv joint boots are torn to ****. Unsure of how long the passenger side has been like this, due to their unknown age and being ripped I'll probably just do full replacements depending on the time frame to get them here.
