Taken a look at you sway bar endlinks and D bushings lately?

And of course upper strut mounts like to rust out pretty bad.

D bushings and endlinks were replaced when I put the 19mm bar in a few months ago. when I pulled the K-Sports for the winter the car got brand new strut assemblies, and I made sure to check the insides of the strut towers while everything was out- only a little surface rust that got scuffed and sprayed with Rustoleum.

Post some pictures of the car and a highlights list of mods and see how the interest lines up for partout or sale as-is. It may be appropriate to list it as a partout, but with notice that anyone who wants it whole will be given priority. You'd have to read back through the FS rules to be sure.
thanks man, I will suffer from the pain for the rest of my life(car loss and back) but oh well family owned car since day one and driven by me for 10yrs. I will take your advice and in the next couple days post some pics and see where it goes from there.

          other than that life continues!

Since I was on here last, I got this beast... and cannibalized the 323 for it.

The 323 has been wrecked and neglected by more previous owners than I care to mention. I've even been rear-ended by a tow truck once in it with countless near misses. She was not loved and I can't afford to fix everything that was going bad all at once. I'm gonna try to sell it to an enthusiast, but if I can't it's going to be junked. The only good thing is the bare tub; the drivetrain and suspension are worthless junk. The Protege is a (basically) one-owner car that was maintained at the dealer with documents and reciepts by the original owner. It needs some small stuff here and there, but nothing major. I wish I could swap it all over to the 323, but I don't have the time, money, or desire to do that. I like my luxurious-by-comparison Protege and the fact that it's not a total turd of a fixer-upper like the 323.

BP powah indeed. The old girl still goes like the clappers. Perfect amount of power for me in a daily car. I have lots of fun with it.
