      Chad, just don't forget to set the toe. Otherwise you will be chewing through tires like crazy.

        heater hose busted. replaced it with a jy unit i snagged a few months ago. to the dealership i go in the am. Dam hose was so soft that when i pulled on it, it ripped apart.

        Yayy for 250xxx mile heater hoses!

          Went to replace my rear brake pads on the GTX today. I was always under the impression that the rear brakes were Escort GT rear brakes. I got the old pads off, only to find that they were quite a bit larger than the Escort pads I had picked up. I'm going to try Mx3 pads next.

                    I dont think MX3 pads will be what your looking for either. I had a set of mx3 calipers at one time and they were really no different then EGT pads in size.

                        EGT left, Mx3 right

                        Haven't had a chance to do it, but I'm certain I've got the right ones now. Mx3 pads definitely have more surface area. However, the caliper piston is 30mm, vs EGT piston size of 31mm according to Rock Auto.

                          iirc the only difference from the mx3 and pro/egt rear pads are how they sit on the sliders. Note the side gap on the left/right where the slider grooves are. I could be wrong, it's been about 8yrs since I compared the mx3 GS rear disk setups to my old red GT.

                            Ii believe I read that the brake pads are interchangable, or the 6's calibers are pads are a upgradeits with a shim or two. Either way, I dunt have either, but our would be worth out too look into. Common parts > Non common parts

                                Yeah, the gtx brakes are Mx3 brakes. The pad surface area is definitely more than the EGT pads, but with a slightly smaller piston.
