ROFL it would be awesome if you rebadged your car to be a protege. i bet people would believe you to! them them it is a USDM GTR protege. LOL

At first when I showed my girlfriend generic pictures of the Protege 5 that I was to be buying she didn't like it. She said it was an ugly station wagon. When she finally saw it she fell in love with the color (Laser Blue) and likes the car a lot. She's probably going to be getting a Pontiac Vibe, so I think she doesn't mind the sporty-wagon/hatch thing anymore. She doesn't like the new Golfs or GTIs though, which I think are gorgeous.

My aunt hates my Protege 5. She said it's ugly, lol. I said "Oh well, you don't pay for it!"

Ppl seem to always like my car....??? well, nobody has ever said **** to my face anyway....and 2 or 3 times, i've gotten "it kinda looks like a baby BMW"

I think all Protege's look good, although the 2nd genners kinda got screwed, just MHO, but there's always JDM. Once done up, they look great.

what Iv found in general is that most people that feel they need to make fun of someone elses car ie: a protege owner, are really not so concerned with the others car at all but the need to be better than them. Especially since most paid far more than we did. This is usually brought on by a lack of pride or esteem in thier own vehicle to the point that they need to tell you thier's is better instead of letting the vehicle tell you what it is. If you know what I mean.

let me edit that a little, because every enthusiest makes fun of anothers car at some point or other. But its not as if you feel the need to go wondering around telling people how much better your car is than someone elses, unless you truly have something to brag about, which IMHO no honda owner can

I love it when people ask me what kind of car I drive.

I say "A Protege".... then they say "Oh." with a little grin on their face, half mocking me.

Then they see my car, and it kills me to hear the same "Oh." followed by .

Although I can't wait to have the sweet sound of a whistleling turbo to get that same look from the gearheads.
