for all intents and purposes, the LCA is the same. its just like 15mm shorter. people swap to MX3 LCA's to widen the track by a bit.

the main issue is that the BP oil pan comes pretty close to that mounting bolt where your bracket mounts. i'm not sure it would clear. if you want to mail me a spare bracket i could take a few minutes and see if it clears or not?? either that or maybe you could get together with shawn and try it on his 323.

i guess the main concern i have here is that the outer bracket is putting all its stress on that little bolt and the hole that you drilled. also, its so close to the main bolt that the mechanical advantage its facing is HUGE. why not make the bracket bigger and use both ball joint mounting holes?

last but not least, the heims arent designed to pivot on that axis really... they should be turned 90* from that. while i'm sure it works fine they might wear out faster that way.

He's supposed to come pick up a steering rack this weekend. I'll give him one of my test brackets to try.

The bolt on there is a 17mm tranny bolt. The LCA will crumble before that bolt breaks. None of us are making a fraction of the power it would take for that to be an issue, much less getting it to the ground and hooking.

I have a set on my old probe that my roommate drives that are 4 years old and still like new; heims are designed to move on a 360 degree axis and aren't typically a frequent wear and tear item.

Maybe we can get Shawn to try out a set. He would be a good tester for all the protege guys. I already know the design works, but it would help find any fitment issues for the true BG chassis.

thatd be cool, if shawn could do some sorta testing or at least test fitment

out of curiosity, what is the most powerful/fastest car that's running these?

The fastest ones I personally know are 12 second cars. Since they came from the probe community 12s is about as fast as they go. Very few run 11s or better. I have no doubts on the bars ability, just the probe/mx6 platform tends to generate many other issues in those power ranges. For power I know they've seen 400+whp. Typically the 12 second ones are in the low 300s. I keep my mx3 around 280-300whp for daily driver duty (which is what I tested these on).

anyone on slicks or at least drag radials? i'm curious what kind of 60' times they've been able to put down. it seems like alot of guys in the probe community are hell bent on getting "street cred" or something by drag racing on normal street tires...

Well, I'm one of those guys too. I like to see how fast I can get on street tires so I can say it drove in that fast. Plus, those trannies are weak. Dead hooking on 300+ hp tends to blow up differentials. My slicks stay on the shelf at home.

Traction bars took 2 tenths off my 60ft on street tires (2.2 to 2.0). Once Moroso reopens over here I'll be at the track alot and have more results.

They'll help anywhere you have wheelhop.

time for a LSD... check out the group buy i'm trying to set up

ive done a 1.90 60' on (small) DR's with a quaife, but i am having wheel hop problems all the way through 1st... i want to buy or design some sort of traction bar... hence all my interest/posting in this thread haha.

you could drive in on drag radials... if i lived near the track i would. i live 2 hours away though, so they'd be worn out after one trip to the track if i tried to drive in on them LOL. you have slicks you never use, eh..? wanna sell them? lol
