hey u said u have coilover and 2" drop springs?
So coil over on the front and 2" drop springs in the back?

Right now i have the sprint lowerings springs that i cut 1 full coil to lower it somemore. The ride on my 323 w/ the sprint 2" drop is more comfortable than my p5 w/ teins that has not been cut. ( but u cant compare the handling p5's the best) anyways im planning on buying a coilover for escorts too but b4 i do that i want to see and ask people how it is. Thx!

Springs aren't half as important as a good strut....A good strut can make even the stiffest of springs seem smooth. Sounds like an oxymoron, but it's true. No i don't mean they ride like a cadillac.

I have come to realize, that investing in real good struts should come before springs.

Point me to one post that says the zx2 struts are not good. Do a search and you'll see that all the people that have them, including myself, are very happy with the struts. Definately the best bang for the buck struts....

Absolutely. While i have recently come to find they suck in comparison to the big ticket FRS/Hyperco struts they are definetely the best bang for the buck. Better priced and valved just as nice, if not better than the Tokico Blues. Not even close to the KYBs...the KYBs IMHO are OEM replacements at best.

im confused about coilovers. If i buy coilovers, they are a direct replacement for my oem springs?

what i have gathered is that coilovers are a direct replacement for your springs. coilovers are just ajustable springs.....

This is a definition problem. Usually the word coilovers is used to describe springs and struts/shocks designed as a set. A set of these would replace your stock springs and struts.

Ground Control and Skunk2 make springs attached to a tube that fits over your strut allowing for ride height adjustability. Confusingly they call these coilovers as well.

Back to your original question. The Ground Control type use springs too stiff for stock struts, so yes, you will need to upgrade. My advice, save your pennies and buy real coilovers. You'll save yourself the hastle of a mix and match suspension.

Yes, coilovers replace your OEM springs. They sit on an adjustable perch, and there is a threaded sleve that slides over the strut. The spring perch is then adjusted up or down to change the drop.
