off the top of my head i'd have to say no. but thats a Q that Derrick at CS would be more able to answer. =)
most likely the rear crossmember won't bolt on, but the rear spindles should bolt up to the suspension towers. i think i can find a way to make it fit...
- Got the GTR motor dropped in
- Have the GTR ECU & harness & fusebox & all relays & resistors
- The GTR fusebox is cut right under the box
- Also have the original fusebox from the 2nd gen 323
- Dropping in a Turbo II RX-7 pump
I just need your gudance once again on how to acomplish this feat again ... ( i am not a mechanic, but from reading the Protege FAQ and asking question i was able to drop in the motor myself last night .... so i figure if i ask the right questions i could also wire up the GTR fusebox to the original fusebox )
I have the GTR shop manual, but I do not have the 95 323 manual, would you have the PDF somewhere ?
im doing the gtx swap into my 97 1.5 pro...what tranny did u use for the swap.??and what model and size motor was urs?? i have a 91 egt tranny but the speed sensor is cable driven with a sensor, anyone know if i can just get a sensor from a g25m-r and put it in there?? i just bought a 93 323 and was gonna give up on the 2nd gen swap and put it in the 323 but this thread might have put me back to the 2nd gen again.
sry for all the questions....just gettin frustrated!!!
Donnie, I'm using a Kia sephia tranny and axle's. Before that i was using a 95-98 tranny and shafts and before that it was a modified BG tranny with a 95-98 bell housing. The key is the 95-98 bell housing as we need it for the rear mount and speed sensor, i know you can modify the speed sensor, do a search but that won't help your rear mount issue. The BG tranny seemed to really buzz on the highway in 5th if your using it as a daily driver then i would recommend either a kia or a 95-98 tranny as the gear ratios in 5 are different
