    I need help

I was trying to get to the EGR valve (code 1402 appeared and the car stalls) and I could not. While I was on that, I found these two loose wires that I do not know where they come from and can not connect to each other.

the one is a plastic covered spade connector. its a ground(2 wire). and the other looks like the temp gauge sender for the cluster.

I have a Z5 as well. I'll take a peek and see if I can find those and what they go to.

For that 2-wire connector, there should be a ground behind and below the distributor pointing towards the firewall. You'll probably have to move some of the harness out of the way to find it.

As for the single wire one, I couldn't find anything in that area that looks like that. Where is that wire coming from?

Thank you very much to both. I've already located where the 2 wire connector goes.

Oh maybe that's the reason why the temperature gauge goes like crazy.

I found another Protegé in the junkyard and this one had a bolted ground here:

And the single wire one was a ring connector
