Just out of interest. Why don't you buy them as opposed to doing them yourself? (P.s I am envious of what you have done and agree you have done a great job) I'm just wondering that's all

Its not just because out of interest, its because its not the same thing. The ones sold on eBay are made for smaller marker lights, not for turn signals.

yowza! those are ugly!..hmmm..theres also another local member who DIYed his front signals..he used plexi glass i think..it even has the oem letterings in the lens itself..

he said the only trade off with this was the bubbles...

i hope mine doesnt crack like that. i sprayed mine about 3 coats of clear aerosol paint so i hope it gives some protection. i dont think plexiglass will work cuz you wont get the "reflectorize" effect. what bubbles? like when you wash you car? i think if you apply a very generouos amount of clear silicone you should be fine. i think i will also be getting those clear lense (thanks for the link) for the side of my front bumpers. my clear fender signal lights will be getting here in the 1st of april so i will have all my lenses clear.

weather was a lot better so i took a much cleaner picture of my car.

Is there a "how to do" for this? I've tried it but didn't work. I know how to remove the amber cover but never figured out how to shape the plexi/plastic stuff.

Do you have a picture of the plastic you are using? i didnt have to shape the plastic i used cuz they were flexible. i just put clear silicone around the housing, put the plastic on top and used rubber bands to secure it until its dry.

started this thread exactly a year ago, how time flies. mine still looks very clear and not blurry at all and no cracks. (knock on wood)

                              to elaborate even more,

just go find a sheet of plastic lens from home depot or your local home supply store. just cut the shape out. hold the plastic lens via rubber bans or zip ties, rubber bands work better, to the lamp housing. and apply silicon to 'glue' the plastic lens to the housing.

I understand but what happends with the hole for the screw? I drill, if so with a normal drill bit? I sure can't screw it in then glue on the lens.

Regarding the plastic lens. I originally was using the home depot type, but then my neighbor got me a piece that is used for commercial billboard/sign making and it's MUCH more flexible and not as brittle.

What is the recommended way to cut the plastic?
