I dont drive my car at WOT very often unless i need to represent, so to speak. I'm just too much of a jew to spend gas like that. That's a figure of speech of course, since I've never met an asian jew before.
That reminds me of something that happened to someone I know. A friend of mine who happens to be Jewish was sent by his company to Japan for six months. Although eager to go he was concerned that he might not be able to find a local Synagogue in which to attend religious services. When he reached Tokyo, after making some inquiries, he was able to locate one near his hotel. On the next Friday night, he entered the temple, sat down and took part in the services. Looking around, he noticed that he was the only Caucasian member of the congregation. He also noticed that, throughout the service, the Japanese Rabbi kept staring at him. After the service concluded, my friend thought he'd introduce himself to the Rabbi. Throughout their conversation, the Rabbi continued to stare at my friend. Finally, the Rabbi asked my friend, "Are you sure you're Jewish?" "Certainly", replied my friend, "Why do you ask?" "Because you don't look Jewish" answered the Rabbi.

Yeah I try to drive /treat the speed good but I love to hear the "turkey"(wastegate) go off. especially like to do it next to other boosted vehicles. Its funny because there are a lot of people who don't know much about the mazdaspeed protege. I have not had any prob yet and I have 26,000 miles on it got it exactly 1 year ago today.

I guess with the 1.6 you can rod the hell outa it but the motor doens't purduce enough power to put stress on anything really. but i'm waiting til something internally goes bad
trust me internally, the 1.6 is a beast, i have not been able to break it, and do0d trust me i beat my car, i have like 93k on it, and i boost like 12 psi and not a damn problem, if i had an FS i would have blown the engine like 50k miles ago

It really depends on my mood. Somtimes Ill just cruize 1500rpm style cruize, So I can hear the exhaust

Other times Ill floor it and hold it down, becuase I am pissed off, or theres a really hard song playing or becuase people are driving too slow, or comming out of a toll, or Im in a turn and want to be pinned to one side of the car ( I dont like to use brakes)
You know what I beat the crap out of this thing.

I drove my first gen so hard that I almost felt bad about it. lol. The car responded very well though. I dunno, but I couldn't drive anywhere w/out redlining it at least once. I mean I don't always take off from lights like a retard or anything, but just driving down an empty road I get this sudden feeling that it's time to downshift and gun it, for no apparent reason. lol. I feel bad for the 90% of cars on the road that have never been driven over 4000 rpm before.

BTW, the smell of burning brakes = the smell of guilt

well thats good to hear becuase i rod the crap outa my car.. well trying to get on the freeway anyways. and that awesome to hear that the motor would withstand 12 psi after 93k miles on it. i have 98k on it and i was thinking i would have to swap the motor out for one with less miles on it.

what did your car dyno at with 12 psi?

oh about the 4k rpm thing. yeah i hate when i see old people driving 00' civic Si and never hiting v-tec.. shoudl of gotten a EX or LX. Leave the Si to the kiddies haha

Yo Jackyl, sux that you wrecked the Kia. I have 103K on my engine and I drive it like i stole it.

Even after autoxing several times and driving the piss out of it for so many years and about 98k miles, it ran fine till i actually decided to break it on purpose by doing neutral drops. I was sick of the slowmatic and wanted to give myself a reason to swap it out for a 5spd. It took about 10 or so neutral drops at 6k before i started seeing the results. Even then, all that happened was 1st gear (in D) won't engage till about 2500 rpms. Then I drove the car shifting it manual for the next 2 months and parked it as soon as i bought my Saab.

Anyway, I found a kickass deal (thanks to my buddy Joe) on a G series 5 speed and swapped it in. Now the sephia is back on the road and i'm driving it even harder and having a LOT more fun thanks to the added control and feel of the 5 speed.

All that goes to show how strong the Mazda BP engine and even the stock auto trans (also mazda) are.

yeah when i took it to the dyno, i found out was wicked lean at higher boost levels, and was safe at about 5 psi, so i dynoed it at 5psi, and pulled like 140whp. once i get these bigger injectors in ill bump it back up to 12 psi, and see what happins.
