the probe mounts are totally different from the escort/protege/mx3 mounts.
we dont have to worry about that problem. we just have to worry about blowing up the stock diff or pushing the shaft bearings through the case (on either end) just like the probe guys
that explains what that weird nub is for by the speedo gear on my kia casing though... for the probe style mount. interesting.Last edited by therieldeal; 10-02-2008, 10:30 PM.Escort GTR -- 11.87 @ 117.6 mph -- 320 HP / 325 Ft. Lbs. @ 23 PSI

below you can see my thoughts on LCA brackets with n00b cad skillz
these would bolt either above or below the LCA using the mounting holes for the ball joint. obviously they'd stack, and the rod end would go between. heck, you could weld the brackets together even, put a side brace on them. the software i am using is a huge pain so trying to make two objects into one object is no worky worky.
any suggestions on a good free CAD program, feel free to throw them out there. emachineshop is cool but the software is weak.Escort GTR -- 11.87 @ 117.6 mph -- 320 HP / 325 Ft. Lbs. @ 23 PSI

one needs to go through & measure the extremes for the right-left turn scrub radius. on the track, no one needs to turn extensively so there could be multiple mounting points 1 for track use & one for daily driving/autox use---Has ClubProtege helped you in someway? show your support by Contributing--- Click Here---

multiple mounting points is getting a bit excessive. i think as long as it clears a normal sized tire on a stock offset rim at full lock it should be fine for 99% of people. its not like you ever hit full lock anytime except for parking lots anyway...
i know exact measurements need to be made, i was just posting my thoughts on the general design of the bracket. jim has the shop, the lift, the fab stuff... he's making the measurements :DEscort GTR -- 11.87 @ 117.6 mph -- 320 HP / 325 Ft. Lbs. @ 23 PSI

No actually, I live in the boonies.
If they are designed to clear a stock wheel with a 205 on it, I’d imagine they would clear most normal street setups. 205 50 15’s on my escort wheels are pretty close to the struts, and most aftermarket wheels generally have less offset than the stock wheels, giving you even more clearance. Not many people run wider than a 205 street tire on a BG… which brings me to the conclusion that test fitting with that size will work just fine. you simply can't design it to fit EVERYONES car ALL the time...Escort GTR -- 11.87 @ 117.6 mph -- 320 HP / 325 Ft.
