They go into the rodend to take the hole down from the 3/4" to 12mm and provide misalignment---I just got the rodends in---nice pieces, 3 pc Cromoly with kevlar races/teflon liners and all heat treated----good stuff. Now we need pins from the other machinist and I can actually start building arms---hopefully tomorrow...

        Hi guys,

Is there enough room on that flate plate where the lower hub ball joint is bolted to, to bolt the ball joint on the top of the control arm rather than below?

That's an interesting thought. How would that affect the roll center?

Yes you could put it on either side.

Wouldn't change it---it would lower the arm towards the ground, but the relationship between the balljoint/spindle snout/ground/contact patch/inner pivots wouldn't change...

Ah alright, so the only reason the RX7 ball joint helps is because it lowers the actual pivot point of the ball joint in relation to the spindle? Would lengthening the assembly by running the rx7 ball joints offer any other advantages besides an increased trac?

It does push the contact patch out a bit as well which changes roll center---we've done that with the arm though---not sure how axles are going to be, allthough I've heard ok...I plan on using the kia axles which seem to be a bit longer...

Got more parts in---still don't have the pins, allthough yesterday he said today, and I talked to him today and he said he'd have some in a few hours, so whatever that means---I should be able to start putting arms together. Got some more of the threaded inserts and got the swaybar tabs from the laser cutter---you guys are getting a smokin' deal on these, after figuring all the machining/laser cutting costs (4 machine shops/one laser cutter) these things are going to be probably closer to $450 with labor. We cut the balljoint plates out as well---probably should of had those lasercut, but got bored yesterday... (the rest of the arms are for another project).
