Sure, but I also need your plate so I can make sure the fit is right. If you send back the bolts too, I can install the plate. Or, you can install the plate yourself when you get it back. $150 + shipping + 3.5%(if paypal).

2014 5th gear plate mod group buy

Currently running another group buy of the plate on another forum.

$335 for the plate and $150 to machine the case/install, plus shipping. You can also get your case machined yourself, I will provide all the needed specs to do so.

Details:
- Group buy will close February 28, 2014.
- $150 deposit required by February 28, 2014. Not refundable after February 28, 2014.
- If you want me to machine the center case and install the plate, I must have it by March 14, 2014, or risk holding up the group buy for others as I'll be machining them all at once.
- I will keep track of all the center cases. You will get the same one back that you sent me, in the same packaging. If you send it to me wrapped in brown paper, then that's how you'll get it back...
- I want clean cases. Spend a few dollars on a can of brake cleaner, purple superclean, etc. I'll charge $25 if you send me a dirty case.
- I expect to ship bare plates within 2-3 weeks and complete cases within 4 weeks at which point final payment will be due. I will send you a PM with your shipping costs at that time.
- I will accept money orders or paypal. Paypal address is same as my email: ferdi [at] ferdster (dot) com. Email/PM me if you want to send me a money order.

When taking apart your case, keep the bearing races matched to the shafts (ignore if you're replacing them).

I recommend that you check the endplay/preload on the shafts/diff. I have seen a few that have been out of spec, probably from the outer bearing races spinning and wearing down the aluminum.

Awe. Guess I should get in on this... Which means I need to find a gearbox to build...

Before i place the order for this i just want to hear some opinions, My g-series box for my 323 is 75% street car, but im planning to do some open track days in the area. I have a Mfactory LSD installed, and only one spare box in the garage.

Is this a nice upgrade for my use, that will likely give my box a longer life? My worries are also going to my axles...are they also like glass(as said about the G-series)?

Axles usually break from wheel hop unless you are making gobs of torque and are using slicks on a drag strip.

The first box I broke was with just a Quaife LSD. It broke at the 5th gear end and that's why I ended up making the plate.

A plate and the installation pucks with packaging weighs just under 3lbs.

I've seen a pic of this exterior bracing mod many years ago and someone just asked me whether it would be possible to make an expanded plate with these braces. Credit goes to Carlsson in Sweden (I don't know if that's a person or a company).



I estimate it would be $200 extra including all the needed hardware. I need at least 3 people who want this before I go through the work of measuring everything out.
