For my rally set up I have 275f/175r with HotBits dampers. Tarmac/whatever is 350f/175r but I don't run swaybars and I can still get the back end to come around. The ride isn't too bad but I definitely like the softer springs on rough roads.

I've gotten mixed reviews on my next suspension setup, but I've got some 400lbs springs front and rear that I'm gonna try. Just waiting to find the right dampers. There's a race shop a couple hours from me that has a suspension engineer working there, he says he can take some fatter Koni inserts and weld my mount points onto them. I'm worried he's gonna blow himself up haha!

got my koni coil spring 2.25 -> 2.50 adapters so i can use all my different springs. going with 10" eibachs @350 in the front and some 12" #200 springs in the rear. should have all that installed in a few weeks. keeping an eye out for some decent rear coilovers cause the super doaked rears i'm rolling now don't even have damper adjustments.

everything went good with the spring adapters. got rid of the slop and slap noise. now my issue is my jenky homemade rear coilover setup. the coilovers are from a subaru that was modified to fit the AWD rear, but the strut body is way too close to the knuckle and i've been having mad trouble finding tires that fit. I'm about ready to just ditch the whole coilover setup and go with struts/springs. so, heres what i need t know. everyone is saying Tokico's but from what years?

not to bring this thread too far from the grave..

Anyone know if the travel of the S/R struts is longer or shorter than the stock 4WD struts? or, anyone have the length of an uncompressed stock strut? I've got a set of the S/R's that I was going to put in my 323, but if they'll not cause any loss of ground clearance, I'll use'em on my 4WD.

As far as the reference to Tokico in the previous post: OEM struts were made by Tokico. So, the S/R struts might be ok.

There is less travel at the front. I think the rear has the same travel as stock, but I could be wrong.

I didn't notice any loss of ground clearance with them on stock springs though.

Im running Dropzones on my EGT just with the springs swapped front to rear...

they are 450f/300r so I just swapped it to 300f/450r... I need some better struts up front but the 450r on GR2s is awesome.. very stiff, but not over the top either.

So, droop might be affected a bit, as in there might not be much there.

Yeah the spring stays more compressed, so it's stiffer. Makes it hard to mount stock springs -- having to compress them so much.

Yay someone recognized it. Yeah it's a great song.

ok so i'm back after rebuilding my forester project. now its time to get the mazda back in the game!

so i'm going with the ford racing tokico's... $185 shipped is a deal, now i'm trying to figure out which springs i want. the matched eibachs are pretty spendy and if there are better zx2 lowering springs out there, i'm game.

Some people prefer the KYB option rather than the Tokico's, the valving doesn't feel as tight on the Tokico's as compared to the KYBs in my mind as well (had both, back with KYBs lol)

Some good springs for a decent price are those Megan racing springs for the 2wd, but not sure how well 2WD stuff fits in the back of an AWD, but they're supposed to drop the car about 2" front and about 1.75" rear.

Another option is H&R, which I found for the same price as the Megan springs
