    harness should go right in , u can use the GS harness...and hook it up to the prbe/mx6 ECU. the Gs axles will be good. but the stock gs clutch will slip if its old. on almost al the swaps, the cluchslipped under hard acceleation and shifts. You dont have to get a real expensive clutch, just a newer one, preferebly from a mmx6/probe/626. but if u find a probe/mx6/626 tranny than u wont have to worry about the cltch. I havent compared the axles before, ive always used the gs ones. fuse box will be aight..ive never had to deal with that.

      awesome! thanks both of you guys! you've really been a great resource in my piecing this together. im looking forward to having the only real modded escort within 20 miles of here lol. you guys will def get alot of credit with this swap when i pull it off. thanks again!

          Did a lil research on rockauto, and the probeGT/mx6 axles are different from the mx3 GS

            thanks for confirming that. i guess i will have to try to track down a MX3 GS....cant find one of those anywhere!

              well i have some bad news. its looks like this swap isnt going to happen! the funds have fallen short, and the idea of another N/A motor isnt really appealing to me like it was. so this swap has been canned. i am however going to get another BP05 and do a mild rebuild + maybe miata pistons (muhahaha) and leter on make it a BP-t. im sorry to everyone that was going to hook me up with parts from there MX3 swaps, D323, Jitb37, Mazdachad, all you guys im very sorry, but the money situation has taken a turn for the worse.

                  I hear ya. I have thought about it sooo many times. Could have easily got it done in a weekend...But when i sit down and look at it...there is alot of extra **** that needs..and i aint got the money to do it either. Good luck!

                        does anyone know for sure if the shiftlinkage/crossmember is different on the mx3 v6 and the escort gt/protege? i've heard ppl say that it is, and i've heard ppl say that you can use the stock protege/egt stuff. does anyone know for a fact that these are the same or different?

                          jaydog off of the MX-3 board told me that the cross members were the same.

                          I'll see if I can hold the v6 one under my 323 and take some comparison pics when I get the member off.

                              couldn't begin to tell you... might hit up the MX board, b/c there are a few ppl around that might can tell you for sure.... some have done the B6 to KL conversion...

                                The cross member on the 4cyl mx3 rs, is different from the 6cyl GS crossmember..and that doesnt need to be changed for the Bp swap, so i would think they are different.

                                the 4cyl shift linkage, is smaller than the v6 one. Alot smaller..in fact once we accidently put the wrong linkage in there...and struggled for a hour to get it on the tranny, and we finnally did and the shifter wouldnt move... ..so you will definately need the linkage for the v6 tranny.

                                The Mx6/626/probe linkage has a smaller curve and bends slightly differnt than the GS linkage..But it will work in the BG chassis, with the v6 tranny.

                                Ive had the RS - GS - probe/mx6/626 linkage side by side, and compared them and i can state it that they all are different. u can use either the GS/mx6/probe etc linkage they both fit fine, just have a slightly differnt curve.
