awesome! thanks both of you guys! you've really been a great resource in my piecing this together. im looking forward to having the only real modded escort within 20 miles of here lol. you guys will def get alot of credit with this swap when i pull it off. thanks again!

well i have some bad news. its looks like this swap isnt going to happen! the funds have fallen short, and the idea of another N/A motor isnt really appealing to me like it was. so this swap has been canned. i am however going to get another BP05 and do a mild rebuild + maybe miata pistons (muhahaha) and leter on make it a BP-t. im sorry to everyone that was going to hook me up with parts from there MX3 swaps, D323, Jitb37, Mazdachad, all you guys im very sorry, but the money situation has taken a turn for the worse.Last edited by T4TURBO; 05-23-2005, 04:04 PM.1997 U-13 Nissan Altima

does anyone know for sure if the shiftlinkage/crossmember is different on the mx3 v6 and the escort gt/protege? i've heard ppl say that it is, and i've heard ppl say that you can use the stock protege/egt stuff. does anyone know for a fact that these are the same or different?1997 U-13 Nissan Altima

the 4cyl shift linkage, is smaller than the v6 one. Alot smaller..in fact once we accidently put the wrong linkage in there...and struggled for a hour to get it on the tranny, and we finnally did and the shifter wouldnt move... ..so you will definately need the linkage for the v6 tranny.
The Mx6/626/probe linkage has a smaller curve and bends slightly differnt than the GS linkage..But it will work in the BG chassis, with the v6 tranny.
Ive had the RS - GS - probe/mx6/626 linkage side by side, and compared them and i can state it that they all are different. u can use either the GS/mx6/probe etc linkage they both fit fine, just have a slightly differnt curve.
