do the mx-3 axles fit into the pro/egt spindles? or do you have to pop balljoints and tierods? and if that sounds dumb...what does it take to hook the axles up in a BG

spindle side is the same between the EC & BG. I have LX axles in my MX-3 GS spindles right now.

nope, just mazda being gay and changng **** ....lol, i tried for soo long to get the axle in that pindle, and it wasnt gonna go in...soon as i got a 92 egt spindle it went on with no problem..

well thats good news, less work is better i plan on doing this swap over the winter hopefully . its going to cost me around 800$canadian at the most, the engine is going to the most costly thing. i can get trannies for 75 if i pull them. and motors...i might just use this engine importer source that all the honda boys around here use, supposidly a k8 is only 350-400$ so a KL should be around 450-550 hopefully.

hey man, you said in your other post when swapping from K8 to BP you need to swap over the slave cylinder, so i guess you're using a mx3 or 6/probe S/C?

jitb37, so all i'll need for this swap is a KL motor, mx-3 tranny, mx-3 drivers side axle, wiring harness, y pipe, crossmember, and matching ecu&maf, passengers motor mount, and to make sure its 92-94 stuff?

im very intrested in this swap, it seems like it would be more reliable power, and bolt ons would increase power more dramatically compared to my BP. plus i wont have to go all out with a KL to get the amound of power i want, just simple bolt ons like what i did to the BP.

flywheel too, the MX-3 1.8L one is sought after since its lighter.

yep thats abou it, but u need the dirver and passeger side axles. You can use the probe clutch/flywheel but the mx3 flywheel is lighter, so better off with that. I have probe clutch with a mx3 flywheel.

you can even use the probe/mx6 tranny

also need the brake booster hose from the mx3

awesome man, thanks a lot. just another brain teaser, what about the throttle cable and speedo gear? can i just adjust the throttle cable? and will my EGT speedo gear fit? because if memory serves me correct the EGT uses a probe type sensor/gear and the mx-3 uses what looks to be a fan style

you can use the protege one, but it wont fit perfectly, but it will go in and work. I suppose u will have to use the protege or mx3 one. ive never seen the egt speedo sensor..

Good call on the throttle cable, u do need that too, i totally forgot about that..
