      Why oil gauge?

Theres been plenty and plenty of people that I know of who have had blown engines due tot he fact that the oil pump went bad and the oil sensor lighgt never went ON because the engine has oil, but it is not running on the engine and by the time it does goes on the damage has been done.

Trust me, it does happen, you may have oil in the block, but if the oil pump stops working or does not work as it should the Oil light will not come on. So, your engine will be cookin very good and you will not no until it locks.

So, WHY A MECH OIL GAUGE?

Because it will tell ya if the oil pump is workin and I mean workin properly at idle and running. It not only says if there is oil, but the pressure which is what it counts.

      * I have had a mech Phantom Oil pressure gauge for more than a two years and has not faced any gremlins.

        "wtf" you are stupid.
the oil related idiot light is for oil pressure and oil pressure alone. it does not tell you if you are low on oil. (unless you are so low that the pump starts sucking air and you lose oil pressure in which case you suck and diserve to have a blown engine as a punishment for not checking youre oil level).

in the unlikely event that the oil pump quits working, the idiot light instantly will come on reguardless of the level of oil in youre engine.

              I am so stupid.

Thats why I do not have a Kia Sephia, LOL

Plus is burgundy, JA JA JA. By the way awesome choice of rims.

Really, thats why the oil sensor is so high in the block, almost at the deck.

Tell me why if all the oil is in the oil pan after the car has been seating down for a month... Why, when you put the ingition switch without starting the engine the oil sensor light does not turn on????

(It does turn ON like all other lights as a startup check of all lights but then all go off) I have to follow all steps for this moron.

HELLOOO? Because, stupid ignorant, it only detects amount of oil, not pressure.

If it would turn on when the oil pump would stop workin, which in this case the ignition switch is on but the car has not started, which means the oil pump is not running, THEN the oil sensor would come on, BUT it does not>>>

Having concluded stupid dumbhorse, oil sensor only detects amount of oil, NOT oil pressure....

              HHHHHEEEELLOOOO!!!!!

Is there a reason you want mechanical instead of electrical? (directed to WTF)

Gee, I wonder what this thing screwed into the back of the motor does?

Could it be the oil pressure switch that activates once the oil pressure gets down to 3.6psi??

Either way, irregardless of what the dummy light does, I wouldn't trust it. I'd much rather play it safe and have an oil pressure gauge. Hell, these are 14 year old cars. I don't think i'm gonna trust some old-ass-rusted sensor to do the job.

No one can argue that haveing an oil pressure gauge is not a good idea!

I'd much rather know if the oil pump is gradually losing pressure, BEFORE it gives out, that way the problem can be corrected before its too late. Either way if it were me i'd replace the oil pump before I turbo'd my car, well my car has over 150,000 of what seems to be hard miles on it (****tards that had the motor before me) oh well..............

stay away from autometer boost gauges. Becareful.
I only use Delfi for boost, and will soon have their EGT white face gauge also.

My Autometer boost guage works perfectly. However the EGT gauge Jegs.com sent me is complete **** and won't work.
