It's sitting in the garage doing nothing right now. I'm hoping to sell it, but there aren't many people out there who need a modified 2.0L motor right
        now.

I would sell the FS motor for $600 plus shipping. That includes the intake manifold that is port matched to the head.

The header was originally an AWR 4-2-1 made for the FS motor. I cut off the main flange and tweaked the primary runners to line up with a SS cast flange I got from Racingbeat for the BP. It's the same flange they use on their Miata headers. They had a few "sample" flanges that the manufacturer sends them to check fitment before they make a large run of them. I still have a few edges to clean up on the inside of the piping where the primaries are welded to the flange, but it shouldn't be an issue once I get a new carbide burr that will cut stainless.

I was going to take some better pictures of it today with my girlfriend's camera, but my BMW decided to break down on the way over to the garage.

for clairification of those who don't know***. thats what happens if you fail to weld the MSP lsd to the ring gear. 1st or 2nd revision.

              pics.

& welcome back to the BP world. please do something crazy

There is nothing really special about the bottom end. It's all stock components, just balanced crank and weight matched rods/pistons. The head and intake manifold have a large port job on the intake side and a gasket match on the exhaust side. As far as has been recorded there are only 3-4 N/A Protege 2.0L motors that made more HP than mine and all of them had more internal modifications (cams, adj gears, standalone ECU). My motor put down 125whp (Mustang dyno) with nothing but a ported/shaved .010" head and bolt ons, all on stock ECU. I'm pretty sure that a CAI, headers and lightweight flywheel did not get me 25 extra HP so the head must be doing something right. I did put the motor on the dyno with the new car on a MS ECU, but we were just doing a quick tune for safety and not power. It was also a different dyno (Dyno Dynamics), but the #'s look promising. I was having trouble getting the VICS to open at all so I'm guessing the motor is good for around 135whp on a good standalone tune right now.

Better pictures. I had to move the crank sensor because I'm an idiot.

Is it just me or is that water pump pulley larger than normal, if so why?

Because of the under drive pulley?

Not sure why it looks so big. It's the ribbed belt pulley from the later model Miatas.
