Maybe. The last few days have been rough. Two of the parts I needed to work on the car this week got shipped wrong. The air inlet ports I needed for the airbox came in, but instead of two 2" ports they sent one 2" and one 1.5". I'm still waiting on another 2" to arrive. I also ordered a brake proportioning valve from Flyin Miata since the include the adaptors needed to screw to our metric thread brake lines. The adaptors they source are custom machined for them and apparently there was a lapse in quality control. The adaptors I received were .007" to big in thread diameter and it messed up the threads in the proportioning valve. I sent all that back and I'm waiting for Flyin Miata to make a decision on what to do about it.

The only thing I got accomplished in the last 4 days was to reroute the brake lines and install a new "T" fitting to split the rear lines from one feed line instead of two.

well at least you did something lol, its too cold to do much progress here...working outside in the snow sucks!

so are you running the new prop valve inside the car? my friend Jon did that a while back, neat idea to keep things adjustable on the fly

I'm mounting mine on the firewall in the engine bay near the passenger strut tower. It keeps me from having to run a lot of additional brake lines. Also there is so much going on during an autocross run that I wouldn't have time to mess with it anyway. It will be something we change between runs if needed, but I'm hoping we don't have to adjust much unless it's bad weather or a drastically different surface grip level.

            sounds fair to me.

So how are you going to adjust the brakes once installed? Turn it 1/2 way then keep track tuning it til satisfied?

For the most part. We'll have a few test days where we can just do some straight line stops from around 60mph to get a base setting. Then it will just be a feel thing to set the trailbraking and allow some rotation control without causing a full lock up on the rear of the car and causing a slide.

Here is the airbox done. I left one panel off the top so that I could remove it until the engine gets put back in the car.

wow looks awesome! just one question, i see what seems to be 2 ports under the main intake/velocity stack. They don't seem to go anywhere lol

I guess the plexiglass is to stop dirt/particles from swirling into the stack?

They stick out from the bottom of the box and will have a pair of 2" duct hoses attached to them leading to the grill area of the front bumper to duct in cool air. I haven't bought the hose yet to finish that part.

And yes, the baffle is just to aid in keeping foreign objects out of the main intake. I don't plan on running a filter.

I slept in this morning but I needed to really bad. Luckily the only thing I had on the "to-do" list today was mount the brake proportioning valve. I haven't finished plumbing it into the factory rear brake line...I ran out of money. I don't get paid until tomorrow so I'll be able to buy the extra brake line I need and finally finish the brakes.

Here is the "tee" fitting needed to convert from two rear brake supply lines down to just one. Brakequip part # BQ91A. It mounts perfectly where the old two line junction was and I used the stock lines going to each rear caliper as well as one of the stock lines from the stock proportioning valve:

Here is the proportioning valve. That silver brake line has been bent about 20 times in different directions, but having an empty wallet, I decided to just bend it again and reuse it:

awesome! looks like a good place to mount the prop valve too, easy access.

is there any worry of fluid supply pressure?? since you cut it down to 1 single feed?

I don't think so. Even with the stock setup there are only three brake lines on the master cylinder for 4 calipers. It only expanded to four lines after the stock proportioning valve. The supply from the master cylinder is still the same. The new setup simply moves that addition of a fourth line to the rear of the car instead of at the firewall.
