        Check again...

I believe they started life as a 2.8l V6, and later recieved a 3.1l V6, before the most recent model change which brought with it the Quad fore 2.4l, 16v 4 cylinder. Called the "quad fore", because in addition to the twin cams in the head, Chevy tossed in an extra 2 "cams" down below somewhere to act as counter balancing rotating mass for the purpose of lessening engine vibration.

...to the best of my knowledge.

Yeah I liked the old V6, it had pertty good power, and it sounded awsome!
I tryed out the newer model, and wasn't impressed at all.

i don't see what's suprising about a grand am race... i mean good job and all, but my guess is it was a v-6 am? not sure if there is such, don't really care, but i had raced a stock am up a slope.. and had no problem beating that one... btw i was wondering.. if you do a harness.. is that just as good (law-wise) as the manufaturer seatbelts? like can you get a ticket if you just have the harness?

In Idaho at least you are not allowed to modify the restraint system that came with the car in any way at all.

if you could get a V1 for $50 w/your old detector in trade, wouldn't you? i don't drive like an asshole, i rarely go above 70... haven't been pulled over since i got a speeding ticket about two years ago.
