    Heh if you wanna autocross that bad, just go out to some deserted parking lot and set up some cones.. no "official events" just your own thing

      that's very strange, because the trannies are a weak point of the WRX, and I know a fair number of people who are had trouble getting legitimate warranty coverage or were flat out denied.

                Torque is just a number like hp thats why you hear of all motor honduhs running 13/12s all day with their tiny 1.8s with NO torque!

                    Perhaps but high hp/tq # on a piece of paper give people huge egos and then in reality they get owned by cars with slightly less hp and 1/2 the tq like a FC/FD!

                                In my experience it really depends on your relationship with the dealer, and the regional representative. I had a perfectly legit transmission problem that "operated as specified." The service tech at the other dealer (thank god for them, though I drove 80 miles) said Subaru puts a lot of pressure on them not to do the service if possible.
