I have got 15" x 6.5" on my car, only because I could not afford the 16" tires, and I didn't even need offsets. These rims/tires ended up looking flush with the rest of the car.

              Base? Are you military?

Anyways, what size is your current tire? I know they are 15's, but what size are they? IE: 185/60/15

              Try this site out...

              Hope this helps!

Sorta kinda, never turned in my military ID hahaha... so until it expires I'm taking advantage of it... Until my divorce is final...tick tick tick..., no one is prying it from my fingers. Where else will I get to buy cheap meat...and I love to cook, so my grocery bill is barely managable even with the commisary lol.

Oh and my tires are 185/65/14... :0)

Yup, sorta... I know I'm getting the tailights and headlights from them once I am done with the bodykit... my headlights, are alright but they're getting cloudy and I do not want to deal with them... besides I want them to match the clear corners....

Your best bet tire sizes are:
                      195/50/16 (off by +.89%)
                      205/45/16 (off by -.87%)
                      215/45/16 (off by +.64%)
                      205/40/17 (off by -.05%)

Personally, I think the 205/40/17 will look the best. Good luck in your search and future modding!

205/40/16 is pretty close to oem speedo readings too, and the 40 series isnt too shallow that a little pothole will own the crap out of your new rims. Ive run over some small ones goin at moderate speed and heard a big thud but no damage.

Either 16 or 17 inches, i think 40 or 45 series would look best . . . below 40 and it looks weird + rough ride + easier to damage wheel ; above 45 and it wont look as cool as it should

Okay thank you... I will probably go with a 45 then because I do not want wheel damage and I am terrible at bumps and pot holes and the side of streets etc... :0)
So 40-45 to be safe is all for me! I want to be able to have fun in my car when I'm done not drive like a granny!

I didn't even bother to read throught mosts of the posts here. I ran out of patients.
I am going to break this down to you really simple.

                            1. 4x100 refers to the bolt patter of your wheel. When you mount the wheel to the brake disc the bolt patter has to match, otherwise the wheel will not fit on. Some of the newer protege's use 5x115 which means the wheel has 5 holes for the studs in the brake disc to pass through and they are spaced out at 115mm apart from each other.

                            2. You can fit 17's on the car really easy. You will loose a bit of take off speed, and the ride will be a bit harsher. 16's will also fit. which brings me to ...

                            3. Wheel Offset is the placing of the center portion of the rim where the wheel is mounted to the hub/disk of the car. Our cars can accept a +40 mm offset. The higher the number 41,42,43 the further in the wheel will sit in the wheel well. The lower the number 38,35,30 the further out the wheel will stick out in the wheel well.

                            4. Assuming you get everything correct. You won't have any rubbing issues.

                            5. A 1" drop on a protege is not really worth it to me. The intrax springs give you about a 1.8 drop and should work great.
5a. What body kit do you have?

                            6. I know what your next question is..... Tires?

You really should search, before you post. I know this has to be posted somewhere on this board. Or at least all of this has been explained.
