so I got an 02 protégé5 and one day while driving im assuming the linkage snapped while shifting from third. It won't release from third and stalls everytime i let out of the clutch even in neutral. I'm wondering if its a common issue and if there is a way to fix it. Any help is appreciated. Also looking for bolt on Mazda speed muffler

@Me109 I have already replaced the transmission with another i found for $550. Engine mounts probably need to be replaced. The car has 185k miles on it. Clutch look like it was factory still which probably played a part in it. I kept old trans to see if its fixable. Just have no idea where to start.Comment

So it's not linkage binding and it's still stuck in third. That's what I was getting at.1990 Protege 4WD
