As for the bolt, they should be threaded studs. If you have a lowes or home depot near you you should be fine. I just got a long threaded rod about a foot long and cut into four pieces. I had plenty left over.
So, did you use the same threading as what was embedded into the bottom of the spoiler? Or, did you go with the other threading (that the nut was threaded to that secured the spoiler to the trunk lid)? I'm thinking that if you use the second, then you must have glued them back into place inside the holes on the spoiler, correct?

      Thanks.

Even if you do have any problems you could just grab some capri axles and be done with it if you do what damkid did. No need for custom stuff. Everything will be just like stock.

NO THE MX-3 AXLES ARE TOO LONG!

          :end rant:

Someone should make that a sticky for the BF section... My car is basically a BF chasis with 4x100 wheel pattern, I've tried escort GT axles and they were too long even.

A thought for making custom axles... in the 4x4 world when building lifted trucks they use square tubing welded to the universal joints on the transmission and rear diff ends and then slide one tube into the other. The axle will turn, and also allows for flexing. Not such a big deal for a FWD application, but a possible inspiration for this application?

the EGT axles were about 2.5 inches too long with the EGT IM shaft.

                  You have 3 choices man,

                  1. Cut some MX-3 axles up, chamfer them like said in a previous post, then weld them together, then sleeve it with some DOM tubing and weld that up too. I would have someone then do a little carburizing and annealing so that the stresses from all of that heat won't be concentrated in one area.

                  2. Pay $800 - who knows how much for custom axles from a fab shop (maybe check out raxles, they could have an inner bearing assembly that may work for you)

                  3. Do what Damkid did with the differential swap in the transmission, and maybe even spring for an LSD from M-factory while you have it apart. (I'd wait to see how his fares first though).

number one is looking like a winner right now.

im getting so discouraged its hard to keep on with this swap. ahh it sucks.
especially when i find an mx6 m edition locally for $500 that only needs a transmission, which i have.

Hey, but any fool can go and buy that MX6... depends on whether you can put up with all the grief to get YOUR car and be a bit more individual. And you get way more interestng people modifying cars

Look for 323 turbo or Laser TX3 turbo ones with 260mm discs and 22V ( number cast in the body) if you can then you'll have 114.3 stud pattern rather than the 4 x 100 of the BG's.........I have a set here but the freight might be a bit too much !! Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_323 or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Laser for a full list of models.

I am guessing that the States might have even more variants on the Fords...Good Luck, hope you find something.
