Bought an oil cooler! Now I need to mess around with how I'm going to mount it and run lines to and from. I'm excited. New wheels and tires should be here this week. Damaged two rims last week and I wasn't even going fast or doing anything stupid. I never do anything stupid.... wellll......

Oh, also bought my first major piece of my cruise control mod. Now to find the other parts by summer so that I can get-er dun.

So I fixed the gasket leak. The gasket was ok. The bolts came out of the turbo. I took my friend to buy back his 323 today. Now we have twin 323s again. Heres a crappy cameraphone pic. Mine is the one on the 17s. I need new rims

I am trying to but I cant find any other rims. I have been looking for something else for 5 months now. The rims got so bent from all the road work in my area that they ride like the tires have flat spots but they are brand new. Last night we went to the local car show and on the way there my friend with the other black 4 door recruited this kid that just bought a very clean BF GTX. So there were 4 323's at the car show one of which is my friend's all jdm 323 with bumpers grill headlights corners and the whole 9 yards.

Finally got the mother f*kin gawd dam left side axle out.... Now I'm putting the trans back together. Perhaps I'll finish this car after all.

Wow, I can completely relate to you on that stretch. I just cut it in half. Still cant get the other half out of the transmission.

So here's what you gotta do to get that axle out:

finagle the trans apart because it won't come apart like it should with the axle in. The primary, secondary, and diff all come out with the top half and you have to take the control lever out in the 1.5" gap you're able to make. A real biatch.

Then you'll find that the axle doesn't push in far enough to clear the side gear of the diff to get the c-clip out. So instead of breaking 6 drill bits trying to drill the clip in half... Grab a half round file and go to town on the axle with the flat side against the side gear. Go all the way around till its nice and beveled. Now you can use some picks or small flatheads and yank that little f'r out.

                      See figure 1:

Now, using your factory manual, reassemble the trans. This is tough because you didn't take it apart like its going together. Make sure you clean all the metal shavings out of the bearings and such.

hope this helps and good luck.

I put the rally cloths on the Gtx, aka I put on the konis with the big springs raising the car 3.25 inches, stock wheels with aggressive snow tires, mud flaps, the reflector license plate delete, removed the muffler from the HKS catback and replaced it with a straight pipe to give it just a little more noise for now. Taking it to another big car show Sunday so hopfully it wins something again.

Continued working on figuring out how to fit my new oil cooler in. Tightened up everything on my intake to get rid of an air leak. Rolled all four fenders to get rid of a slight rub due to new tires and rims that have a slightly different offset than my previous set-up. Still haven't gotten rid of an annoying shimmy starting at 60mph.
