Are you talking about the 4 studs on the radiator support that bolt to the two brackets that hold the top of the radiator in?

If so, drill them out and use a nut and a bolt.

No, the two rear studs on the crossmember where the motor mounts are attached.

Yes those are the ones I am talking about, I was not sure what it is called, crossmember, subframe, etc....... It's the one that runs front to back in the middle of the engine compartment that the motor mounts are attached to.

That's along the lines of what I was thinking.

Do yo remember what kind of bolt you used?, because I may have to do that for the front ones as well.

just find a bolt thats around the same size and make sure you do a good job on welding it you do not want it to come back apart. and if your front ones break you will have to cut out a new lower support from a junk car. i had to replace mine after i bottemed out at an autox

On the ones toward the rear of the car, the passenger side one looks like it could be popped out like a stud, for the wheels, if that's the case pop it out drop a new one in and wa-la. A little backwards from original but functional.

As for the front ones I don't have access to all the tools I need, so why not run a bolt from the top of the support down through to where the crossmember mounts?

In my book, it's not how it looks but how it works that counts.

Of course it looks good in theory, but it may bite me in the ass in real life.

its not like a stud that pops out. the stud is welded into the subframe from the factory thats why i drilled it out and welded in a new one. and yea in theory that could work with the bolts on top of the lower support but you dont want that cross member shifting around while driving so just keep that in mind

That's true, there would be alot of play for that to move around and possibly break.

I'll try using a hole saw and cutting two small holes above where the bolts go just big enough to drop a lock washer and nut in that way.

Ever have any problems with the rear ones? The drivers side was broke already and the passenger side broke when removing the crossmember.

The one on the passenger side looks like you can pop it out or is going to be more along the lines of cut flush and drill it out?

on the rear just cut off whats left of the studs and drill them out.make sure you dont wander with the drill you want the new studs to be in the same place, and then weld in some new bolts. if i was you though i would replace the front support i wouldnt toy with trying to make something work. its built the way it is from the factory for a reason. its not to hard to cut out one from the junk yard and weld it up. it took me a saturday to do mine.

well unfortunatly i didnt cut it off myself. i live in the great state of connecticut where the normal car driver gets dicked around at the junkyard so i had to pay them to cut it off. they just took a sawzall(or how ever you spell it, i dont care im drunk spelling things right is obsolete at this point) yea i paid them $75 to cut it off. but if you had a hacksaw any size with a metal blade it wouldnt take that much effort. unfortunatly i cant just walk into any junkyard around here and take parts off. i mean there is one but they make you carry all your tools in by hand and i wasnt about to haul everything i needed in there so i bit the bullet and paid them. i hate connecticut i get sh** on all day everyday by everyone. ok i will stop myself from going on a rant but if you want i can get you some pics of everything i did to make my cross member fit back together. i have taken it apart at least 5 times since i replaced the front rad support and the rear bolt that broke. and do yourself a favor and dont try to weld the front support together if it broke just buy a new one i tried that and it disintegrated on me in no time its not worth trying to fix it it takes just as much time to do it the right way. the work i did so far handles my gtx setup with poly tranny mounts no problem even after a hard autox and a six puck clutch. if you need anymore help with it pm me.

I feel you pain, our junkyards are the same damn way. I had to get a tranny and a few other parts, after searching for 2 hours I found my donor, the only problem it was about 300 yards from where you go in, you want to talk nightmare. You try carrying a hood a fender, and the hatch plus your tools back and forth. I ended up having to pay them $135 for the tranny to have them take it out and bring it to the front. No chance in hell I could get it out with just hand tools, and then carry it back to my truck.

Such is the luck of owning a ford I guess.

As for the pics, If you can email them to me that would be great.

I got the belt, for the gt w/o a/c.
