Ok, sounds like a good idea, but A: Don't you have to roundover the end and put the nipple on so it stays in the arm? and B: Don't you run the risk of pushing the throwout bearing off of the shaft it rides on? and C: Am I able to use the Synthetic DOT 4 after using regular brake fluid, (ie..Does it cause any leaking?).

if you extend the pushrod properly & grind it accordingly to fit in the slave cylinder piston you won't have issues, I know jack about dot4 synthetic.

What did you use to make yours?, and how much longer than stock?

I was hoping rusty would clue us in on the DOT 4.
Using synthetic does seem like a better idea, but like you said I don't want to have issues after converting to it.

                        It doesn't in my car.

I just use what we buy by the gallon at work....it's free for me.

Off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure it's Castrol Synthenic that exceeds Dot 3 and 4 ratings.

As long as you are not converting to dot 5, using dot 4 sythetic you don't have to change any parts out. I would just recommend bleed the old fluid out.

Are there going to be any leaks going from regular fluid to synthetic?

                                Right.

Dot 3 and DOT 4 are compatible. DOT 5 is silicone based.

You shouldn't have any leaks when converting to synthetic.
