Its an m12x1.25 but I can't find a nipple for it because apparently all brass barbs are pipe thread and they have a slight taper to the threads...idk that's what the guy at Oreilly said...

that came off a bit snappy ^^ lol, it's just nice to know there's alternatives out there, like the oil banjo bolt Chris found for like $3.

Just back from the machine shop! Needs cleaned up by hand and painted (crank laying in backwards I know) haha

All cleaned up and ready for tedious masking and paint

All painted in silver..I tried a new brand of paint from my machine shop and Idk if I'm liking it. It's not silver enough. Looks more like primer to me :/ I'm gonna get some VHT engine paint like my turbo and use that.

Mocked up the intercooler. Gotta trim a little behind the bumper, but it should all fit well.

It may have come off a bit snappy but that was not my intention. I tried all this during my build. I even stooped to the low of drilling out my coolant feed block off screw and threading and tapping that with a npt thread so I could run a nipple. It leaked from day one and I bit the bullet and bought the right fitting. Pay for it now or pay for it later when you have to yank everything back apart to get that little nipple back on. 30 dollars isn't at all a high price for not having it leak down the road with something that doesn't work. Now if I would have known that you needed the fitting I could have pulled on off this xr2 capri that was at the local jy weeks ago. Past is past and doubt i will be swinging by that jy for a while. I did all the leg work for you, now all you have to do is get your credit card out...

Also it'd be nice to find an alternative, the only way I can think of an alternative is to find some metric threaded rod with a hole in it.
Found a possible alternative. Still have to order it, but i'm not certain of the actual thread that goes in that bolt hole. If it is M12X1.25 then this an alternative

Use that with the proper npt fitting and you are golden. Sorry for the snappy sounding comment.

Hey sweet find! I like how they call it "a trick banjo bolt" lol

I was bugging my friend at his performance shop today while picking up some parts (IMACHU2 from CP) and yea, that's one of the 3 things we found as well lol, other was a 1/4" barb (tiny ftl) and one for fancy AN line (not cost effective for the tiny vj turbos lol)

Hey this might be a stupid question, but I started on the build today and my main cap bearings are also grooved and have a hole in them like the main bearings that go on the block side. I don't remember exactly what the old ones in the caps looked like...stupid mistake. It's about the only thing I don't have a picture of from my teardown lol ...is it normal for the cap side of the main bearing to also have a hole and groove? I understand the groove, but there's no hole on the cap to line up with...it makes no sense to me.

The guy at my machine shop and a guy from O'Reilly both said it was fine, that it just depends on the manufacturer of the bearings. I have king bearings and all 10 of 'em have an oil hole and groove. I also went back to my machine shop because he had my old bearings and the cap side bearings were smooth and the block side bearings were grooved and had an oil hole like normal.

cheaper to make duplicates of one part than to make 2 i guess

This looks like a good pcv/catch can setup eh? I was thinking about running two catch cans/ one for the pcv side and one for the fresh air line. If they both run to the piping pre-turbo then it'd be under vacuum all the time, even under boost, right?

Thanks for all the help guys! I just ordered the coolant nipple from my local Mazda dealer. He said there were only 9 left in the country! lol $34.99, but I need it so it'll be worth it.
