i like the drag wheels!! i hope you dont spend a fortune on sanding the inside of that thing. it will perform just find the way it is. if you need the extra 20hp bump the boost and call it a day!!

I already have the 17" Axis Maglite's on them... I like the look. It was X-men inspired with those X rims on that RX8.

As for sticking out that far... that's just for drag so I don't care. I've moved my tires to some Micky Thompsons... instead of the BFG's.

Yeah I don't sand, I grind!!! But I've come to another design flaw that I did, and it's my fault and I'm an idiot. On the flange, which was originally off a header type manifold, I cut the pipes off it and then chiselled out the pipe outta the ports of the flange... BAD MISTAKE! Now the ports are too big and I now have to go back and weld in a sleeve to close up the hole. If I let the port dump into a big hole I'm gonna get reversion which will slow down the velocity of the gas and then I'll get velocity-lag.

On a side note, I'm going back to one of my old machine shops to use the milling machine and fix the warped flanges of the turbo and wastegate... gah, I hate setting this crap up. Oh well it has to be done.

good luck man. think there has to be much machined off the flange?

Just when I thought things were going good on the turbo install...

... I drained my tranny oil cause I wanted to try something different cause it kept grinding gears from 1st to 2nd and this is what I find... DAMNIT CRAP!

I dunno what I'm gonna do, I guess I'm gonna have to tear down the transmission... do I change all the gears and go for some billet ones or something stronger or what? I've got my MSP LSD in there... so I don't really wanna go and try fab up something to fit the MR2 just yet.

Well, I've just got to run the lines from the turbo... but now I can't use rubber hose at a certain part cause it's way too close to the manifold at one point and too close at the turbine housing. So I'm trying to source out some mild steel tubing.

that looks sweet! Tight fitting but way cool! I am excited to see it done. And as far as the tranny... 2nd gear went out in my old tranny too.... But I would do a mr2 upgrade But I don't know what I am talking about... I didn't even know it would fit!

Very nice to see that manny coated Jon! It's all looking very sweet. How close is the turbo to the hood? It looks very tight on the radiator side.

Oh and some new fan cause the other one ain't gonna fit with no room... might have to make it a pusher rather than a puller.

shades i see your using a dohc fast idle valve switch to a sohc valve both coolant lines face down

                              just looks a little cramped

Yeah I know, it's a tight fit especially with that fat fuel rail in there now.

I have to hit the junkyard and go get a SOHC one in the future... but right now I'm just trying to get my turbo on the road. I'm close, just gotta bolt everything up now that I'm done my water/oil lines which I'll be snapping some pictures of soon.

Side note: Also in the works is a Black MX-3 SE... excited!
